Agree, I think they forgot what the offshore is all about. A speedmaster is 42mm , a Seadweller is 43mm. I think an offshore 44mm is just perfect Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The way I understand the concept of the Offshore is that in 1993 when AP created the collection it was all about a powerful sport big watch. If you start decreasing sizes I feel is like going backwards. Again this is just my perception of the collection Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I bought my first Offshore in 2006 and back then the Offshore was the more desirable Royal Oak. The Offshore is sportier, more fun and the huge range of leather and rubber straps make it easy to change the look of the watch.

The 44mm Offshore looks better on my wrist than a RM and that’s why it’s my favourite sports watch

When AP made the offshore it was 42mm not 44mm. It should go back to 42mm but with the design of the 44mm. Also I would love a 1-2 inch thinner 42mm offshore with the design aspects of a 44mm.
https://www.audemarspiguet.com/com/e...A027CA.01.html ^This is the closet thing AP has made to the perfect offshore IMO. Thinner case, 42mm, and design cues from the 44mm. My only complaint is the dial placement. |

Still loving my 44mm AP more than any other watch in my collection. Gets by far the most wrist time out of all of them.

Fair point , but times change. And all the brands have increased the sizes of their cases to keep up with the new norm. So it makes sense for AP to increase the size of the case of the offshore. 42 was big then , now 42 is close to average. Personally I have no interest on an offshore that is 42-43mm , I rather have a seadweller. I guess at the end is personal preference, luckily for you and me we don’t have to worry about it because currently both sizes are still on production. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Do you find the new pet cat or does the pet cat find you? I’m reminded of this when I see the variety of ROO, because I’m a Rolex refugee with a full enough collection to think about growing up. But the Rolex language is easy to learn. AP is Hungarianly complex by comparison. So, do you research and buy? Or buy on visceral impulse and then research? This picture of available options sums the problem up. Were you perplexed “but I’ve just got to” when you bought your first ROO? Or had you weighed the decision rationally, as, perhaps, Rolex buyers do, with their simpler comparisons? I ask because I’m perplexed, but I’ve got to, on a 26401RO. I just can’t fight this feeling any more.

I love the 44. Question for current owners:
Would you trade a Batgirl plus some cash for one of these? I have the chance to get the titanium/grey dial 44 ROO but not sure if worth it. How versatile is it? |

The 44's aren't in the "hype cycle" now, but it's not like there's an infinite supply either. They'll have some downward price pressure, but before everything took off, I think the Ti version was selling ~$24k among the greys, so I think a reasonable bottom is likely $20-24k, depending on how the economy continues. |

But it’ll be much larger than a Batgirl. A 44mm ROO wears much larger than a Deepsea. |
