Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8 now in stock. Any feedback?

The Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8 watch is now finally in stock at the official Omega US websites. I keep reading online that this is a great looking watch and it seems that the price is already going up. What is your feedback?

It is a fantastic looking watch and very comfortable as well. I love mine. But price has not gone up. Price has always stayed the same.

Omega's black ceramic cases look fantastic in person. Way better than photos can show.

It’s a great watch. I owned one for a while but it does wear quite big. I wouldn’t be expecting it to rocket in price, but if you like it it’s a great one to own

It's a stunning watch but I just wish it was an automatic. That's the only reason I didn't get it and ended up with a Dark Side of the Moon with the 9300 movement.

Regardless, Omega's black ceramic is absolutely stunning.

I guess a watch cannot go up in price if it is still available at retail. Wait until it is discontinued for 2-3 years…

Well it was easily attainable pre-owned for $5-$6k at one point and I'm not one to buy something when the price goes higher. At the time I tried one on, I liked it but I didn't think it was worth it to me for my personal collection. I also don't care for "reading online that this is a great looking watch" I don't think there has been a watchbox or grey seller review lately that has said a watch is not good, they are in the business of making money.

We will find out once this model gets discontinued. My guess is that the price will go up. The price was already up a few weeks ago when the watch was out of stock.

I'm generally not a fan of Speedmasters *ducks for cover* but i've always thought this model was bitchin
Its probably the only Speedmaster in the current catalogue i'd consider buying, TBH

If it does, don't worry as there will be another limited edition to replace it, it really shouldn't have bearing on your buying decision.

Wait what? The manual wind movement is part of what makes this watch cool.

I’ve been enamored with it from the first time I set foot in an omega boutique in 2018. It wears really well too.

Never bought it though as I can’t imagine when a non swimmable watch that has that much yellow would get any wrist time.

I’ve seen $8k -$10k range of offers over the past couple years, now it seems more towards the high end of that range

I used to own this 44.25mm Apollo 8 but sold away because it's wearing big on my wrist.

This is the dark side of the moon series and the size for this series is 44.25mm

Standard moonwatch is 42mm

Since the thread is still being updated, my two cents:

I owned one of these, bought new (grey) at a discount.

Beautiful watch, absolutely stunning. I love the contrast of the yellow bits.

I could not read the time, very difficult to see.

It was too big for me.

I finally sold it, and was able to make a small profit, which is always nice. There are not many of these out there, and prices varied widely in the past. I think they've settled-down now, and discounts are difficult to find and used ones seem to sell for solid money.

It's a beautiful watch. I have a DSOTM and love the black ceramic!
