Mother of Pearl Dial with diamonds

Hello, I have a 2 tone Daytona circa 2007 that I purchased new and am considering trading it towards a newer ceramic yellow gold oysterflex with a mother of pearl dial with diamonds. I really like the watch but my wife made a comment that the MOP dial with diamonds looks feminine. This got me thinking. I generally do not like diamonds on watches (no offense to those that do) but to me, this watch is just so beautiful. The diamonds are not large and gaudy. What are your thoughts on this dial? Is my wife right and how has mother of pearl held up in the resale market with time? Are they a tough sell? Your opinions are welcome.
