Audemars piquet code 1159
Have I made a massive mistake buying one of these!? It just seemed a really good deal and I needed a dress watch. $12000 off list arriving next week

It's a nice watch, although the proportions aren't necessarily aligned to your classical dress watch size. I think you'll be pretty happy to see it in person as the domed crystal, view from the side case, to its easy to change (relatively, just screws) strap options make for a modern interpretation of what a dress watch these days could be.
At retail its a tough pill to swallow unless its a segway to a RO or a future allocation but you got a nice discount so won't take much of a hit (if any) if you decide to move on from it. Either way congrats and be sure to post some pics when it lands. |

How did you get it for 12k off list.? I’d be interested in one at that price.

12 months old, barely worn. Seemed too much of a bargain not to pick it up! They seem to be picking up a bit of traction since the new dials. A full gold ap case for $27000 barely worn seemed too good to miss! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’ve got the new 43mm taupe and the ceramic diver so I’m covered now for sport watches, needed something dressier but I like bigger pieces. Seemed to fit the bill and it sounds like a bargain to me! I’ll put some pics on. Even if it’s not for me can’t see myself losing on it. They seem to hold value better in the USA rather than where I am. If it’s not rubber or metal in uk it seems to be less popular Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Congratulations! I'm partial to that version. Is that the one with the RG middle case? Here in the US it's about $31k from the boutique. Too rich for me but I'd buy it at $25k.
Wear in the best of health!

I'm also eyeing a mint piece in navy that's trading at under $20k USD. Tempted to pick it up, the watch case is nice but the dial just seems a bit underwhelming for me hence that's why I'm on the fence.

I haven’t seen one put im taking a punt, from what I’ve read the original dials were quite boring, the new smoked ones seem to bring some interest to the dial. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It’s a beautiful watch, and I would have bought one long ago if my tiny wrists could accommodate it!
Loving the CODE: I only started following AP in earnest last fall, and I instantly LOVED the code the moment I saw it. As a newbie, I have been mystified by the sturm und drang about the CODE. AP innovates, and is not afraid to be playful (eg. Black Panther). That seems to grate for many, but for me, I love a holy trinity brand that isn’t afraid to take risks and have some fun. Because of my tiny wrists, there is basically one single AP reference that works for me (15450), but if this wasn’t the case, I would have two Codes by now for sure. Love it. |

You'd be surprised how nice the watch is in person. The case, the curved glass, the attention to details, the open case back...
They are becoming allocation pieces. So at 12K off retail is a no brainer. I have the RG with blue dial. |

The TT case is amazing in person. I own the silver dial and it has one of the best side profiles.

Oh awesome, I saw a chrono white gold in black in Dubai and thought it looked cool. The queue in the shop would have taken three hours to try on! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That’s good to know! I won’t wear it much as I struggle to take off my ceramic diver. It’s the best watch I’ve ever owned. Excited now! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just to finish it off. Initial thoughts is that this is criminally undervalued! The finishing is superb Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I love the code - I can see why they never picked up in popularity because the marketing shots really don’t sell how good they look. I grabbed the purple dial in rose gold with purple alligator band for the husband recently. It is an absolutely gorgeous piece and I think as more get to see them in person they’ll become more popular

It's a lovely watch! But I wouldn't call it a dress watch.
I like it. But that's the issue for me and probably why I will never buy one. It's too sporty to be dress and too dress to be sporty. I don't see where it fits |

Very nice. For $12000 off I would buy one as well. I’ve always liked the Code lineup.

For me it doesn't have to "fit" anywhere. It's just an awesome watch that I love to wear. Looks great dressed down with a tee shirt or dressed up a little with a sport coat. I have other watches for formal wear or swimming/biking, but I wear the Code for just about anything else.

I think it depends on your collection, compared to my diver and offshore 43 it’s definitely a dress watch! I think times and clothes are changing, in the uk at least people wear smart leather trainers with sport jackets now to dress up so I can see how an old fashioned dress watch wouldn’t be relevant, with the Kevlar on it bridges that gap even more. I won’t wear it often but this is my dress watch. If you know what I mean! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
