Some pics of the new Air-King, this thing is fun!

What a fun watch. Seriously.

First day of wearing mine outside, was waiting for Father’s Day to pass as it became a Father’s Day gift.

This thing is a beauty. And the lume is nice too!

Honestly I hated this watch when it came out (original release) but this new version is pretty sweet

I actually really liked the previous version AK when it came out. However, I LOVE this new version! I really want one of these. Looks amazing! Happy Father's Day OP. Congrats!

Really good looking watch. Congratulations.

I know I am in the minority here, but I love No Date watches.

Nice lume shot. Never knew about the Bloodhound SSC connection. The dial makes sense now.

Thanks guys. I have been a convert for the last couple of years. I remember a few years ago, the local AD having the original 116900 displayed behind the window for weeks at the time and I always wondered why would they put this weird looking reference on display. The numbers and the dial didn’t make any sense to me.

Later when I learned about the association of the dial with the bloodhound project etc , it was new born love at first sight.

I kind of got lucky the opportunity didn’t present itself to own the previous gen (I would not have said no), and that it got them this long to offer it to me which happened to be after it was updated.

The precious gen’s “5” is more true to the instrumentation it is meant to replicate than the ‘05’ of the new version. So each one has its own appeal I think.

Here is how it looks on my wrist:

Haha… I think we were typing at the same time. I just put in the comment about how I only liked the dial after learning about the connection.

I've wondered and asked on a random 'Air-King' post not long ago and nobody seemed to know the reason behind the dial. Now this is a watch i'd consider getting, so cool!

Rolex really improved the AK with the changes. I put my interest in for one with my AD.

Looks great! I have the old model 116900, seriously considering updating it with the 126900. Although still waiting to see and try it.

Thanks. Using Instagram stories, which is incredibly strong tool, one can make a nice compilation or short video with affects and text and such. I knew many people ( especially those who are not a Rolex fan ) do not know the association so put this pic together. Glad you like it.

Canada

Roots has always been a favorite of mine. Just like Rolex, they are tough to beat when it comes to longevity, quality, performance , casual luxury.

I really like the new one but don't understand Rolex's marketing. They market it as an aviation watch but got rid of the faraday cage. Aviation watches of yester year needed the faraday cage to protect against the EMP of the old engines.
