Yea I don't see that happeneing unless CPI numbers change drastically. They are trying to front load the rate increases and nip this thing in the bud (a day late and a dollar short).

Moda Group has already started warning about certain previously reputable dealers who are deep in debt and unable to deliver.

Very interesting posts regarding the grey mkt. we knew a lot of these guys were buying on credit, even heard it talked about on some of these YouTube series. If true, there will be a fire sale at some point. To give him his due, Roman sharif predicted exactly that a few months ago. Bin31z’s post makes the Rolex mkt sound like the US housing mkt in 2008.

agreed, nothing is ever easy and if everyone thinks doomsday is coming then it's always the opposite

I know some of them are called “trusted” sellers, but I would not send a wire these days to any grey dealer, not matter how reputable… Don’t have too much confidence in their balance sheets and ability to actually deliver the watch…

Oooh. It's like the watch Lehman moment. The seven figure debt ripple could cause others to fall for sure.

What’s interesting is that dealer in question bragged about throwing $150k (one dollar bills) in the air at a Vegas party in TPG’s NYE video.

There is a dealer in my country who in the early spring acquired a patek 5711 and a few pm royal oaks for sale. He seems to be still listing them with the "old" prices... It is a small dealer and it seems that basicly he has thrown all his eggs into a same basket.

I feel bad for him... kinda.

Watches keep dropping even from last month. I reckon pretty much all Rolex is heading back to MSRP.

On MODA there are some crazy price drops and I'm seeing things like 116619LBs, Gold Skydwellers etc....for UNDER retail now.

Funny thread, does anyone still enjoy watches or are these now just speculative hard assets?

Wait, I already know the answer
