I think engraving initials or something on the case back is terrible, it’s an objectionable condition to purchase, no deal. Sell me the watch, I will do with it as I please.

Selling to individuals, who then flip the watch, is not the reason for the grey dealers to be flush with new product - it’s the AD’s themselves, some of them anyhow, pushing volume out the back door, off the record to grey market dealers. Maybe not Wynn, but I can’t believe selling an OP here or a Sub there is enough to stock the grey market dealers with the inventory they obviously have; I think it’s the AD’s.

I would have yelled across the showroom to all…

“Someone put something in his mouth, my zipper is stuck”

And walked out with the bird over my shoulder. Then got a sandwich for lunch.

I thought the latest ploy from Rolex, to stop AD’s selling to flippers/grey market, was to limit the sale of watches to 3 a year to any one individual.

I think the engraving is too much. Just sell watches and stop with the silliness. People will flip if that is what they are going to do.

I’ve bought from Watches of Switzerland and never had any issues like that. And mind you my first piece was a daydate 40 that I bought in December last year.

I bought my son's rolex at Wynn/WOS and the SA is a true gentleman. Brought my son with me on my last biz trip to Vegas and got to introduce them. I look forward to my next trip, will be the first place I go.

I’ll be in Vegas in 2 weeks and will go to the Wynn. If they tell me to engrave the watch, I will tell them just that, “it’s blasphemy to a collector!”
