I wanted to sell a watch winder so I posted it successfully on the classified subforum for accessories for non-Rolex watches. It then occurred to me that the sale might also be posted on the Rolex accessories sub-forum. Before I did I asked the mods if it was permitted to do so. I received a reply that it was so I posted the sale on the Rolex watch accessories sub forum. The post was then removed from that forum and I inquired of the mods on that forum why it occurred. I received a rather curt reply from SteveO that it was not permitted to post on two forums. When I sent him a copy of the email I received from the other moderator I found to my dismay that my original post was now closed and I can not now bump that to the top every 48 hrs as permitted.

I sincerely appreciate all the mods do and I am not trying to quarrel with them. I only would like a clarification as to why my thread was closed.

Just a guess, but it might be because if it’s on both, you might get two buyers, and that may cause a problem! Again, just a guess!

I think you only get one ad per item. So, pick a forum and load up a new ad for your winder.

I almost did, they said he picture of one of the men was so hideous they weren’t going to let me use it, but the other man being so incredibly handsome cancelled it out. I hope Jocke was not too insulted

A request to move the fs to the preferred forum would have avoided the duplicate advert.

Maybe a Mod, preferably the one you spoke with, can remove the ad completely. Than you can start all over again. Seems to me, it was nothing more than an honest mistake.

I would go ahead and repost in the preferred section. These guys have a lot of issues to resolve and of course it’s not an actual job but a hobby. There isn’t always going to be perfect communication.
