Congrats to Robert and Tommy! Both of you not only can talk the talk but walk the walk. Value can only be judged by the man who is spending his hard earned money so to each his own. One thing for sure that both of you have in common....you both have great taste. Let's drink to that ;-)

Thanks Norman, I did not attain it here in ID, it was a deal 4 months in the making with a dealer in Europe. He had told me about the watch months before and he would update me every now and then, finally the owner decided to sell it and it came my way.

I'm pretty sure he bought this thing not just because it is an investment piece but also because of the fact he is in love with this piece. Must you post something like this?

Enjoy your watch...it is rare...that is for sure! But $60K+ is a lot of money to spend on a $2K watch 15 years ago....you have to admit that at least?

Peace!

And in another 15 years it may be worth a 120k watch (or more)....... with more than a decade worth of enjoyment in between.

Peace! .....

I have to say I do agree with Tommy on the vintage watches in regards to an investment however it is just a watch and if u like it who cares.

I recently bought my first Pam for under Au$5K, that is a fair amount of money for me to spend on a watch other than Rolex.

Then comes this thread where the OP has the ability to pay $60K for a watch that he can both wants and can afford. Whether he has made a smart investment or is the victim of Panerai hype seems to be irrelevent to me... he earned the money and can spend it any way he likes.

I personally, find the tone of some of these posts distasteful as they are personal in nature and break the prime rule of forums... debate the issue not the person.

BTW love the watch but it is way out of my price range... where did you buy it from if you don't mind me asking?

Now you can keep it in a safe and wait for appreciation. I on the other hand will wear my 00 on a daily business. Glad you got your grail though...especially since Richemont had nothing to do with it! Good luck on its appreciation!
What a tiny world you live in dude
Regardless of your shallow opinion, this piece has fetched the current
market value, because of its history, rarity, supply demand etc.

Robert, congrats
Amazing pieces! Mantap!

Beautiful watch. I am only starting to appreciate how special vintage (v. contemporary) watches can be. Enjoy it.

Yes, you can see more about production details about Pre-V's here:

And read about some of the earlier differences about Pre-A's, the t-swiss-t dials and the Pre-V's here:
