Sub authenticity (specifically bezel font)

First-time poster here looking for some reassurance post-purchase.

I recently bought this 1998 Sub 14060 from a trusted re-seller. I had the watch opened up and authenticated too (not by an AD mind you).

After looking at other models of this year online, the bezel seems to be a different font (thinner and the tail on the 4 is not as long for example).

Is this just a manufacturing variance or is there something off?

Appreciate the help here!

I agree , bezel does look aftermarket to me and not Rolex original. It also looks too new
Lets hear from other more knowledgeable

Bezel looks aftermarket , the font on the 4 definitely looks different and the pearl looks too new for a watch that age.

Bezel and insert look aftermarket to me. Wonder whether some parts of the movement are aftermarket as well.

Movement has been verified and authenticated. Let's not plant unnecessary seeds of doubt please

Not authenticated by Rolex, a AD or anyone here.

Sorry most jewelers would not know how or what authenticates a Rolex movement.

So as of now, we can say the "bezel" looks incorrect/after market - that may or may not be the only issue.
Only a photo of movement or possible the numbers between the lugs will make a more positive thought

All valid points, sorry I got a little bit defensive there. I'll be going to RSC in NY to have all of this verified...seems like the safest bet for peace of mind.

An update on this after a visit to the RSC in New York. Watch is fully authentic including the bezel. I asked why it varied from other models of this era and the response was that they frequently changed between years.
