Hi Guys,
What is known about 'Rolex USA' bracelets? Are they made to the same standards as the Swiss effort? Are they considered rare or unusual? Regards, FB. |

Ha Diddly HaHa. HA HA! There's me thinking you knew what the HELL you were talking about!! Would you like to make a small wager up to about £20,000,000? Do I sound confident? Yoobetcha my Antipodean friend! I'll post the pix as soon as I can figure out how to. Are there any knowledgeable members with an opinion or any other gamblers? FB. |

Not really sure what you mean by Rolex USA bracelet. ALL accessories, parts, bracelets, links, clasps concerned with the bracelet will ONLY be Made in Switzerland. In 26 years of wheeling and dealing I've NEVER seen any Rolex product with any other name except SWISS on it. So I really cannot fathom what the hell you're dabbling about!! And, BTW, if you do have a bracelet with Rolex USA printed on it, then I really would be shocked!!

Well some UK market older bracelets from 50s and perhaps early 60s have made in England on them. This was before all the business and manufacture was switched to mainly Switzerland.I do recollect a US made expanding oyster type bracelet,on very early 6204 subs from early 50s .And some of the 1940s Bubblebacks had a expanding rivetted expanding oyster style bracelets, but not 100%sure these were made in the US as well. But Rolex USA is a seperate company, perhaps watches destined for that market have USA on them but not sure.

And the amount you wish to wager is? I am, by the way BABBLING about a watch I bought in the Rolex shop in Bond Street in London's busy West End. I still have the receipt dated 20th January 1975. So with your permission I'll take my nice Jubilee bracelet marked 'ROLEX U.S.A' back to those nice people and tell 'em that my friend (in N.Z) says he knows all there is to know, and that you've sold me a FAKE! Can I please have a nice new GMT3 by way of compensation!! Or I will sue! I expect they'll put their hands up and hand over my shiny noo watch! Yippee!! FB. |

Please see my post just above yours. I've already acknowledged that you could be right after reading Padi's post. And if you get a GMT-3....I'd give anything to see how good a fake it is!!

Hi JJ, I still think GMT-lll or GMT-3 sounds good don't you? They admitted their error, by the way, apologised and gave me the watch. The movement looks beautiful through the glass back, I bet the fakes wont look this good. One thing does worry me though, they seem to have spelled Qwartz incorrectly! So, does anyone KNOW anything about the Rolex U.S.A bracelets? FB. |

Sorry I missed this question. I must be getting old. LOL! Indeed there are Rolex bracelets that were made in the United States. For that matter there are Rolex bracelets that say "Made in Mexico" that are geniune. At one time Rolex contracted with companies in which they sold watches to make bracelets. This was done in an attempt to save on importation tax. Most of the ones I'm aware of were rivetted or folded in the oyster series. I'm aware of one in a TT folded jubilee--20 links with 1 push pin. My guess is this follows the same thinking Rolex used in the mid 60s with importing 17 jewel movements in certain watches to the U.S. for the same reason. |

My bracelet repairer, being presented with two genuine Rolex bracelets said the following: "Just realized on the Swiss made band you have only one end link and it's aftermarket, if you want we have some original end links for USd50 a pair."
Here is a pic of my RUSA bracelet. |

Good info, guys. Thanks.
I've seen a disclaimer in the new Translation booklet that comes with the warranty card (which we get in French). The disclaimer clearly specifies that the current Rolex is entirely made in Switzerland. Thank the Lord for that!!!!
