Icon4 Not a question but a statement

I think we have some not so friendly people join possibly from another forum to truthfuly disrupt this one. Ayjay and 16610 seem to be the colprets. Any thoughts as to who they are?

Well, whoever they are, it seems that their mommas didn't teach them any manners and they feel threatened by the existence of this forum.

Good - I rather like the smell of their fear.

This may be the oldest necropost I've seen on this forum. Well done.

Well, way back in the day - I assume before there were established mods, keyboard warriors were especially rampant.

TRF is no different than other Internet forums except I think that code of conduct is (trying) to be held to a higher standard than a lot of other ones.

TBH I just thought it would be interesting to revive one of the oldest threads.

I need to get out more.

TRF was founded in 2005 to break-away from another Forum where the members had become less than gentlemen.

Those same types did make an attempt to disrupt TRF and we have had that same scenario play out from time-to-time.

So far we have over a quarter million members and over 12 million posts, with daily posts still strong.

Those other Forums are either gone, or struggle with a dozen active members and a post once in a while.

What was the price of a no-date Sub back then?

Probably around $5250 or something I bet....maybe less. They were in the low 5's when I got mine in 2009.

I'm glad this necro post was raised. I had no idea we have over 250,000 members! insane and very well done.

Haters always gonna hate, I guess since the dawn of time until the end of time.

Focus on the good, lots of smart friendly folk here that are more than happy to help and spread their knowledge.

Pffff, it's clearly Chewies charming personality and intoxicating odor that makes the addiction here, so strong!

As a former member of an old Rolex forum, I can say, without equivocation, that TRF is the absolute best.

This thread got me thinking…

Whenever I visit the Rolex SubReddit, I am reminded to appreciate TRF and its members. I know things aren’t perfect here, but this place has stood the test of time and has largely resisted stooping to the supremely toxic levels other places (like Reddit) have. Most posts usually garner helpful, respectful and congratulatory responses, and it’s a testament to the members and mods!

This thread is old enough to vote. 2005, where was I? Florida in my early 20s. Tan and drunk wearing an Oris, I think.

I’ll play: In 2005 I was in my mid-twenties and waiting tables in Atlanta, and racing bikes.

I was broke as sh*t but enjoying some of the best years of my life.

Things have certainly changed in the last 18 years.

I had been wearing a 16610 for 8 years by then. I should have been on TRF!
