I'm extremely saddened by this devastating news. We go back a long way and have been through a few forums together. I hope he can pull through. My thoughts go out to Zemina and the rest of the family.

Dear JJ,

I have not had much interaction with you here on the forums, only a few responses (encouraging, friendly and polite, as is usual from you) to a few of my posts. Buy I feel like I know you well as a friendly father figure to TRF. You inspire trust by sharing your and your family's trials and tribulations of the last two years, you occasionally used the expression "bastid tosser", which most people correctly interpreted as being used as a "term of endearment". Your humorous posts, many of which were self-depreciating, are very enjoyable to read. You demonstrate a paternal tolerance to those members who behave less than exemplarily. You are not the owner of TRF; you are not a moderator, who has the power and duty to police the forums to keep TRF a pleasant place, and yet I feel that by your actions and behavior here you have been instrumental in creating the wonderful environment which is TRF.

I was devastated on hearing this news of the patriarch of TRF. Please do not loose hope. My friend's mother-in-law was diagnosed with terminal cancer a number of years ago. She chose to increase her remaining quality of life by refusing all treatment. After 6 months she was still feeling perfectly fine, much to the chagrin of her doctors, who repeated the scans and tests and found her to be cancer-free! Miracle or doctor error, who knows, but it ain't over til it's over. I'm sending prayers and best wishes for your health and for strength for you and your family. Hang in there . . .

-Eric
