Icon20 AP 15450 Silver Dial Availability

Hi, I've been interested in a silver dial AP 15450 for a short while now and have been considering preowned vs. new. I really love AP's silver dials, even more than the blue in some cases. When it comes to buying a 15450 silver dial new, what are availability and wait times like? Is it a realistic proposition to just contact an AP boutique like bal harbor and place an order? Also, I have a 6.9 inch wrist so I'm also worried it might wear a bit small ~ any pics on slightly larger wrists would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks trf!

pre owned goes for around retail now so i assume its not too hard to get but also not easy, also think it might be a bit small on you given your wrist size

I was worried about the size = but whenever I see a 15400 with the silver dial, it seems enormous. I prefer 38 to 39mm when it comes to my dress watches so I thought that the 37mm might be a better fit. Then again its so hard to find a place where I can try both on and there aren't many pictures around of people with my wrist size.

I just purchased a 15450 grey dial which should be coming Tuesday so I'll post some pictures. I have a 6.8-7 inch wrist.

I've been told the wait for the grey 15450 is a few months, certainly much shorter wait than for the blue. The ADs refuse to guess on how long the wait is but my sense after speaking to them is definitely this year.

I contacted my nearest Boutique (Las Vegas) and they told me they don't have any 15450 until 2020. I asked if I can be placed on the waitlist and they said that wouldn't be possible..

Is that on all colors including grey and white, or just the blue?

They said all stainless steel variety were sold out.

I haven't called the Los Angeles or Vancouver Boutique though.

Sorry, should have mentioned I am in HK. There are 7 ADs (inc 3 boutiques) here. I’ve been told I can receive a grey 15450 in not too long and have been put on waitlist for the blue.

This probably won't help you, but white and rohdium 15450s were readily available in AP Taipei a few months back. They wouldn't even put me on the list for the blue version.

Sorry didn’t ask specifically about the white, but I recall one AD saying white and grey are about the same wait. The blue does sound tough to get, my gut sense is more than a year but at least they were willing to take my name down.

I get a sense that that's the case. For some reason, however, 15450's don't ever seem to show up in any of the greys... Always tons of 15400s but almost never the 15450. Always found that wierd

I just got it! I'll post some pictures later tonight..
Definitely looks much smaller than I thought.. maybe I got fatter the past couple of days

It fits nice and snug but I think I'll need to get another link but I don't know if it'll be too loose. We shall see.

Sorry for the wait. This is on a 6.75 - 7 inch wrist. It looks smaller in person (prob because I'm more used to my 39mm Explorer, but after wearing it for a couple of hours it looks normal) and even with all of the links it feels tight sometimes (during the swell of a hot day). I got a full link from my TD but now it's too loose so I might have to get a 1.5 link instead. I'll let you know how that goes.

It actually looks great! With the integrate bracelet having those stiff bits of steel where the bracelet starts, does the watch sit alright on your wrist? Or is there a gap between the caseback and your skin?

Super helpful, thanks mate! I guess I need to find a way to try on a 15450 and a 15400 and see. But your pictures are pulling me towards the 15450.

My 15450 blue and Daytona C, it’s a tricky size as it doesn’t seem much smaller.

You might need extra links. I have a 6.5” wrist and it feels a bit tight with all 8 links installed.
