Hype and money aside, which one looks better to you?
Not a valid comparison in my mind. Very different watches and both can hold a spot in any collection. Which would I pick up to wear, nine times out of ten, if both were in my watch box? The Daytona, ideally with a black dial.

I’ve actually never liked the Speedy and I absolutely love the Daytona … so that is my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Speedmaster
I think a good question to ask people as all is if the Daytona was an Omega and Speedmaster was a Rolex — which would they chose |

They’re both iconic. That’s like asking if a lion is still a lion if it had a different name. There’s a lot more than the brand name. There’s history, design, and the heritage of each brand that needs to be taken into consideration. Just my 2c. |

I respect your opinion, but I also feel that with almost any Rolex, there's no doubt, no question, no debate, they're meant for the water. It's hard to ignore that there's such a longstanding and polarizing debate when it comes to the speedy. |

Daytona by a mile. Speedmaster feels like a toy on the wrist. Just my observation. Lasted less than 6 months in my collection.

The Speedy is the only Omega that will never leave my collection.

As I posted, the Speedy wouldn't be my first choice for water activities, but I'm also not afraid to get it wet. I'll go with what one of the most well respected Omega watchmakers has to say vs. "My AD said". Incidentally, my SA also told me not to get my 321 wet Yes, it seems to be a polarizing topic Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk |

Try out the new speedy-the bracelet feels a lot more like a President than the older one (which I have). The step dial is a huge plus in my book too. Omega has really taken a similar approach with the Speedmaster as Rolex does with its watches-most people would think a modern speedy pro was the same watch as a 321…similar to how people would assume that a 11/12 Sub is the same watch as a 16610, just a little shinier. Speedmaster Pro is an absolutely iconic watch, and you can’t go wrong with it. That being said… I also love the Daytona. I think modern Daytonas have probably deviated a little bit more from vintage models as far as design is concerned…but Daytona’s still have a rich history and a timeless design. Truly one of the greatest. I’m interested to try one of the new 12 series. From the pictures I have seen it appears the lugs have quite a different curve to them. I wonder how it wears on the wrist. Knowing Rolex, probably incredibly! My next watch will be a GMT, but after that I will have a genuine dilemma…Do I sell my Speedy for a Daytona, keep the Speedy and call it a day (I love the whole Land/Air/Sea thing), or keep my Speedy and add a Daytona… Oh wait, I think I just figured it out! |

I think the Daytona size is really the best size for my 7” wrist. Its thinness yet so solid feeling just wears so well and comfortable.

I don't think it's a question of 'better,' they both give off very powerful vibes, but in different directions.
The Daytona vibe fits into my collection- and lifestyle- better, but by no means would I say it's a better-looking watch. My two cents... |

Daytona from a looks point of view. I was in love with the Speedmaster until I saw it.
Hard to describe the feeling then but now I can articulate it well - it doesn’t feel like a luxury watch, it feels like you’re paying for the history of the watch rather than the watch itself. I’m not a big Daytona fan but it oozes quality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Speedmaster is a great watch but rather unattractive.
Daytona is a great watch that is also beautiful. |
