FP Journe Appreciation Thread, an Evolution.

She told me now my watch is officially registered at the HQ under my name. Do you know what does it mean?

Hmm no idea hahaha I’m guessing they just don’t have the back end as organized as say AP that’s ruthless.

I have had mine in for service so I hope it’s “registered” I did not know there was an extra year warranty available? Now I need to go online lol

Edit: Nevermind I’m a year and a half late it seems lol wish it would have automatically activated as I sent it for service immediately after purchase to fix an out of spec bracelet.

It seems like everyone uses extra warranty to get the customer to register online. AP, VC, etc. Only PP does not care.

If you buy direct from the boutique, the two year warranty is automatic.

My understanding was that when buying direct from a boutique, it’s an extra year’s warranty on top of the standard two; i.e. three years in total.

This was what I was told, and that they would manage the registration of my watch with Geneva HQ on my behalf, in so doing activating the extra year. That being said, despite repeated chasing, I never did receive an email confirmation from FPJ HQ (as was suggested would be the case), however it was insisted to me via my man in Dubai that it had gone through and the extra year was activated. I figure that paper trail is enough if it ever does become an issue, though hoping it will be a moot point!

I agree with the earlier comment made; viz., they definitely do not have as tight/tech-evolved a system as other marques… AND different boutiques (geographies) play it faster/looser versus others also…

Let me get my warranty paper out when there is a chance. But I recall reading that you get two years warranty with boutique purchase and one extra year over the one year if you purchased from AD.

Found it their website:
WARRANTY EXTENSION

TO OBTAIN AN ADDITIONAL YEAR OF WARRANTY*, WE INVITE YOU TO FILL IN THE WARRANTY EXTENSION FORM WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF PURCHASE.
* FOR ALL NEW F.P.JOURNE WATCHES PURCHASED THROUGH OUR AUTHORIZED NETWORK, APART FROM A BOUTIQUE PURCHASE (3-YEAR WARRANTY) AND FROM ÉLÉGANTE BY F.P.JOURNE COLLECTION WHICH IS AUTOMATICALLY COVERED FOR 5 YEARS.

So it does seem like you do not need to register for extra year of warranty since you get 3 years already from boutique.

I don't think we get a lot of these but as this is a Journe event for loyal AD customers, it's not surprising to see a concentration of this model. I also saw a repetition souveraine, a handful of new and old tourbillon, QP, BL pieces and others. Great evening out

I was at the boutique with my RQ and even they were commenting that they do not see many of it coming through.

Reviving this thread over morning coffee. Listening to the symphony of remontoir clicks.

I’m fortunate enough to have a few Journe pieces but nothing really compares to the CO for me. Yet.

It is also the one that was noticed (outside of a watch event) at a car dealership by another customer. “Excuse me - nice PF Journe.” A+ for effort :)

Jokes aside, it has a very special feeling that comes with ownership. I have two buddies with the model as well and we share the emotion for the CO.

I love FP. They are fantastic watches, and I know this isn't a thread about price, but I just can't justify the price of these watches, at least on the secondary market where there is at least some chance to get one. I just don't see where the price meets the value here.

Go to a boutique express interest and wait a couple years. They don’t take deposits so you’ve nothing to lose. I wouldn’t advocate buying any watch above msrp currently Journe included.

Closest boutique is Los Angeles. I'm in the Bay Area. However, I do visit LA often, so I guess it's worth a shot.

For those that have recently been allocated their first reference, what were you offered and how long of a wait did you have?

At least a year.
I expressed interest for one in Titalyt a year ago. I was told they will try and get me one in 2023. And I have a relationship with a couple of the boutiques.
