Bait and Switch

I haven't posted in a while and I don't plan on posting for a while but I just wanted to bring to everyone's attention what I perceive to bad faith by Omega.

At Omega days 4 new gold Moon Watches were announced in moonshine gold. The pricing was between $24,600 to $36,500. Before these watches were ever released Omega upped the prices by around 9% on each model - $26,900 to $39,700.

I understand pricing changes and there is no lock in but to me it is disingenuous practice to do this.

The brand also introduced a new Aqua Terra 38 MM that has not been released yet but they kept the price at $6,000, for now, which is the same as it was on Omega days. Perhaps once it is closer to release they will up it - who knows....

There was a recent price hike on July 1. I think a few lucky people managed to get their moonshine gold before the price hike but most did not.

I agree with you. It’s not great at all. My Omega Boutique rang me to tell me this was happening as I was looking to buy the Sedna but wanted to try on a moonshine. I just bought the Sedna last month without seeing a moonshine.

Starting to get a Rolex feel from Omega on pricing, availability and worse of all, game playing. I have been into Omega for a lot of years and have come and gone with models and watches in the collection. Omega is not the only brand that does this type of thing but it is a brand that impacts me, so it matters.

So they aren’t aloud to raise their prices? Give me a break.

Of course Omega can raise the price of these watches. Are buyers willing to pay those prices. Time will tell.

It's quite in bad taste when they decide to raise prices on new stock that has not even reached the authorized dealers watch cases. To me, it's just another example of Omega treating their AD network like garbage, they will be the ones who will have to explain to their frustrated customers why the brand pulls these type of moves on them.

This will be observed by .00001% of the population. I’m sorry you are upset. Go ask for the announced price. If you are going to an AD and not an OB they’ll probably give it to you.

Not exactly bait & switch where you’d buy the Moonshine and receive the Seamaster, but a little unfair.

Not sure I’d call it bait and switch but definitely in bad taste.

Retailers as a whole never received these pieces - so for there to be an increase prior to dealers receiving them is in bad taste in my opinion.

It’s just like them. These watch cos out of touch with the speed of the watch market and pricing. Just like that the extra 5K increase on PM speedies will halt sales immediately from OBs or cause them to leak them to ADs for sale at -20
