That's the nice thing about vintage Omega's their are lots of them around to pull parts from!
That's all Greek to me as I am not as much an horology aficionado as most around here. It is good to know there are options should the movement be shot. I'm hoping to wear it soon.

Thanks for the info.

Update:

Another death in the family and finances will not allow me to spend the money on the watch repair.

I will probably be selling one, if not two of my current watches as it is.

Rik said around $550, plus it needs a good bracelet as it currently does not have one.
I told him to keep the Seamaster and use the parts. He said he will put it to good use.

Maybe some of the parts will end up in someone's watch here on the forum. I dunno.

Anyways, I can't see keeping the watch in it's current condition and I don't know when I would ever have the disposable money to fix it.

Thanks guys.

Jim very sorry for your now multiple losses you have my sympathies.

All the best and good luck to you and your family. Take care of them, then worry about the other stuff later.

Sorry to hear of the additional loss in the family. Very kind of you to donate the watch parts to be used in others, but why not maybe hold on to it. A few years from now you may find a little bit of extra cash and then you can fix it up.

That's a very good point. I have thought long and hard about it and I concluded that the watch really wasn't a big deal to my Dad, and he hadn't wore it in years. He pretty much destroyed it by drilling the crystal (silly boy). Anyways, after discussing with my wife I decided to just let Rik use it for parts.

I have SO many other items from my father's past that I am hanging on to. I believe I have enough.
