I get about 5 a day on my cell phone that is forwarded from of office phone. Usually I have a good idea if it's a telemarketer. I must have over 1000 numbers blocked. But they are getting clever by getting local numbers and calling just once, then they get another local number.
Our house phone in Canada has a different ring tone for long distance and toll free incoming calls. We don't answer those, usually. But we also do not have caller ID on that phone, probably a rare thing these days. |

I’ve had it!
Some guy hated them so much that he made a robot to run the telemarketers in circles. He eventually shared his bot with the public. Basically, when you get the telemarketer you conference call his bot in (US # 206-259-4991), then hang up, or mute yourself and listen for comic relief.
He even recorded some of his bot's conversations with the frustrated saps and posted them to YouTube. Funny stuff. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JODjtsQOC3Y |

In a way, letting a scammer or a telemarketer babble on - and not hanging up - is a public service, almost selfless humanitarianism at work.
The time he or she stays on the line with you is 10 less calls to Frank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I've got a couple of routines down to spend time with them, telling them I live on a small farm, and only have sheep and goats, no "ducks/ducts", gets their frustration level peaking after about 10 minutes.... |

With bursts of 35 calls per day, including 4-5 in 2-3 minute spans, I turned off the ringer for all callers not in my address book. It finally slowed down last month.
The trick is NEVER to answer a call from an unknown caller. Let them leave a message. |

I've been getting 5 or so calls a day on my work number with someone speaking Mandarin and they keep leaving messages. All different numbers. So annoying.

Not going to post anymore. I posted an innocent comment that was not even in disagreement, simply an alternate view... obviously you are just looking for a fight.
