Scratched my Royal Oak itch at last!
Really happy! Joined the AP club! Picked up a one year old AP 15400st white dial today for £10500! Full box and papers with AD stamp. No wrist shot though, have it straight to watch finder to have the bracelet polished as there were a few light scratches. Back with me in 3 days.

Congrats, that's a nice price, you sure of your source? Was it WF?
Didn't like the finish on a PP I saw at WF recently, brush wasn't straight, so I would be curious to see it too. |

Im curious about the WF refinish too. Technically they are an authorized AP service center so its not like its some random servicer because they have AP's stamp of approval, but then again 3 days seems pretty quick for an AP refinish. Post pics as we are all curious about what exactly is up with WF as an AP service experience.
Congrats on the watch |

I would've personally skipped the polish...
But either way, congrats on the addition! Cheers! |

Would be interesting to see how it turns out too. I've only heard good polishing reviews from APSC. It seems like AP is the only brand that has it's collector support a refinish/polished case (if from APSC). |

I bought it on eBay but I am sure the watch is good. The seller isn’t a very savvy seller but that’s good from my perspective. The pictures weren’t clear and when I picked the watch up there were more marks than I like on a bracelet. I went with watchfinder as tyler1980 said they’ve got AP’s approval. I contacted O&R in Leeds too but it’s a case of send it to AP and 8 -12 weeks turnaround for a polish, £450.
To start off with watch finder said they needed to send it to AP but I said I just wanted the bracelet polishing, they came back with £90 which I’m fine with. Can anyone tell me if they have any experience with wf? I have bought watches from them before and the service has always been excellent but not had a polish done. |

I bought a AP Diver a few years ago off of Craigslist for about $5,000 less than market price. Turned out it was completely legit - the guy didn't know of any forums or dealers to sell it. Wore it for a while and made a ton of money selling it. |

If you really want AP to do it, call APSC yourself and dont go through an AD. I was in Harrods last week and some guy wanted a standard replacement strap for his new safari. Harrods said 8 to 12 weeks for a stock strap which seems ridiculous. Im sure if he just called APSC himself they may have actually had it in stock but worst case it doesn't take 3 months to ship one from switzerland. Call APSC yourself to double check time frame as AD's sometimes say its way longer than it should be. Plus AP's website says a polish is 300CHF. You should only have to pay for the polish and not for a WR service in addition if its only the bracelet, as they are not taking the case apart. |

Thanks for all your comments. I've email WF to ask if they can achieve the same finish and am awaiting their reply. I've seen good fakes but this one I'm sure is good. The beauty of the movement, rotor and thickness of the Royal Oak I believe cannot be faked. Plus he's the original purchaser with the VAT receipt etc.
If all else fails and there really is a fake that perfect wf I can get my money back off PayPal! He insisted on paying by PayPal only! Which is good for me, I wouldn't have paid any other way. He was a relatively old guy using his business address and like tng said, he didn't know where else to sell it apart from wf who offered him £10k. |

I normally find white or silver dials bland but I don't have a white dial amongst my watches.
I didn't realise how much the AP dial reflected light until I saw it in the flesh, its stunning! |

How do you take close ups without going over the 1250x1250 size limit? I've got my watch back and I'm pretty happy with the finish.

if its an attached photo just save the file as a smaller size before uploading. You can still do macros with smaller file sizes. It just prevents the photo from being too big to look at.

I only just received watch as I have been away for Christmas. I asked for a best possible polish without full dismantling. I paid watch finder £90 and the watch was ready in two days, the full polish is £450 and 12 week turnaround.
I wish I took a photo of the watch before the work was done but the bracelet was quite marked though not deeply, like he scraped the bracelet on a wall or other hard surface. If it wasn't bad I wouldn't have gone for the polish. |

Thank you for sharing! Do you have any pictures before the polish?
One can tell they have polished the bracelet but the case almost looks untouched except for some polishing on the bezel rings mirror finish and one of the right chamfers. It looks very well done, was it done at there center in maidstone?
