After much deliberation with my Rolex choice in December 2017, I walked out of the Ad with the explorer 1. It relegated all me other watches, Longines, Seiko etc. to my watch box and they haven't seen the light of day since. My explorer 1 hasn't left me wrist since day one. Absolutely in love with it and extremely happy with my choice.
I haven't really found anything I'd change. Easily readable at a glance, lume is really good, overall weight on the wrist is unbelievable, sometimes I have to shake my wrist slightly to feel that the watch is still there.

Between the AK, EXP 1 and DJ 41 I'd place the EXP 1 as a definitely classic and low profile watch that as an appeal to it that... it's hard to explain. The AK has found me taking, sneaky, glances at Him which make me consider it as an EXP 1 alternative for those who like a bit more of impact on their wrists. The DJ 41 has me divided between 3 dials... The Dark Rhodium with Black Roman Numerals edged in Green (I call it Rome meets Darth Vader) of the Steel and Yellow Gold version, the Blue dial with indexes and a Silver also with indexes from the SS version. All these dials have, somewhat, personal reasons so that's the reason for the split attention.

In another way I was advised to go for the Silver SS since the AK and EXP 1 where considered "...only suited for women..."

Which dials do You like/love the most?

Just dropped the AK option... Compared with the EXP I was really disappointed with the lumen...

I've got a customer saying that it was discontinued. So far I've heard that only from 2 persons.

I just picked up an Explorer I myself 2 weeks ago from an AD. It’s just a great piece. It’s my second Rolex and I can’t seem to bring myself to wear my older one, yet!

Explorer I = Great choice
