omega ser 87798178

I'm looking at purchasing a and Omega Seamaster James Bond edition the owner did give me the serial number my question is how would I be able to look up that serial number if it is stolen number one.

As well as I'd like to know as much information on the water they possibly can including its country of origin and so on and so forth.
