Can these be had at MSRP? I would love to sell my collection and go all in as this would become my one and only other than a couple cheap watches for fun.

This is the holy grail.

Yes, and even well below MSRP (like $10-15k depending on your AD/ market)

Sorry but you’re absolutely wrong there unless someone is selling way under priced. Where can you find one 10-15 grand less?

I’d imagine they can be had, and should be msrp at an AD. As far as a discount, they’re getting harder and harder to come by, on the PT, or PM. I believe the grey/market prices are at or above msrp at this point. The rolex market is madness (especially if has Daytona on the dial)

Really sorry I’m wrong then! The way these are priced on the secondary market wouldn’t of thought possible! I know I can get one from AD and I’m not a big spender really which is is why I thought this as I cannot even get an air king lol.

I have the diamond dial

I saw your post in FS section selling a BNIB platinum Daytona in Sept for 84.000 USD. If it was true you paid only USD 60k (20% discount) then you already made more than USD 20k profit from the watch you purchased from AD not long before that. Congrats so easy money to make then.

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=764126

From what I know myself and I got my friends to check many ADs in Europe too since around April 2020 there has been a scarcity of these platinum Daytonas and no AD would give % discount on them or just nominal %, let alone giving 20% discount.

I have to leave this thread. The enablement is so strong.

I didn’t mean to turn it into a value thread I honestly want one. Man if I found one at $60k I’d be done. I can make $60 work with selling the watches in my collection to make it work.

$80 to $85 is just too rich.

Those pics in this thread though are so amazing.

Official platinum daytona owners club (or wanta be) thread!!!

Not to detract from the pricing discussion of these lately as a topic as they've been raised by the rising tide that does raise all boats. (It's actually nice to see for us owners who got in early.)

Took mine out of hiding this week as it's not been getting the wrist time it used to. It went up to the top of Mount Washington for some 60+ mph winds and cold!!!

Those discounts from an AD on a PT Daytona (little to none) is the same thing I’d been hearing, and market prices are over msrp now. If that discount was given from an AD...than there was a tidy profit for sure on that sale, even if asking price wasn’t received.

I have been looking at one at retail price. If it was $60k or even close it would be a no brainer. As is, it's a nick over $80k including tax. Big difference. Offered me just under retail on my RG Daytona in trade. If it were the baguette dial version I'd be more apt to do it.

I tried it on and the weight is just insane versus the other PM Daytonas. Serious piece of metal.

Damn, my Daytona is one of my favorite splurge purchases of all time, I wear it every day, and enjoy it as much today as when I got it almost four years ago. But if I were faced with paying MSRP (+/-), I don't know that I would do it. It's hard to believe how much these have gone up in the interim. If/when they disco it, I guess it will go even higher. Crazy!

Anyone that expressed interest for the platinum with diamond baguettes, what was your delivery time roughly?

I think it has to do with the different color on the Sub dials.
Might look that way, but i think the Ice Blue is the same.

This watch is incredibly difficult to get reproducible dial photos. It is more variable due to lighting than any other Rolex I've ever seen!! It changes hue from almost green to robin egg blue. I thing the dials are identical except for the sub-dial tracks!!

It's funny but after almost two years with it I sometimes consider selling or trading it; I'm certain it would be a move I'd regret!!! Complacency isn't a good thing!!! I seriously doubt I'd find a watch to replace it which would hold my interest as long!!!

It can look silver in direct sun, and at times it looks almost green. Then in the right situation, it's quite blue. I've seen the diamond dial in person (it is beautiful and very subtle as diamonds go), but it was before I got mine and knew the dial color as well as I do now. I don't believe the dials have different blues, but couldn't swear to it.
