Rolex warranty

Anybody know how generous Rolex is with their warranty window when you’re just “outside” the 5 years? Original purchase date April 2018, I’ve noticed issues with the automatic works lately and didn’t even think to check, I assumed my watch was still under the 2 year warranty period and not the new(er) 5 year. Checked the box and mine is indeed under the 5 year, albeit outside the 5 year now though.

I’ve never been granted any wiggle room, but it does not hurt to ask.

Depends on if it is a known manufacturing issue, such as the 3186 spring clip or the 32xx lube issue. In these and other cases they are more flexible.

If it is a broke watch after the warranty, or not a manufacturing issue during the warranty, it's more likely to be denied than approved.

It never hurts to ask. I just had a watch from another brand fixed under warranty where it was just a month over. It just depends on the company's mood on any given day and how nicely you ask.

This is for a 216570 and I know the auto works are not working properly. I don’t think it’s a “known” issue so i may be SOL. Which RSC would you contact? Dallas? Do they have an email or is phone contact only?

It’s all relative, to some it is just outside, to some it’s not. Take for instance car warranty’s, there is tons of wiggle room there. It was just a question though, appreciate your input and opinion.

No offense meant! As someone else said, it can’t hurt to ask. Good luck!

RSC will not grant you a single day when out of warranty, an AD might be a little less strict.

Thanks everyone! So the question then becomes, RSC or independent like Zimmerwatch or Rollieworks…hmm.

RSC Dallas will service your watch at a cost, $850.00 last I paid. An independent is going to charge you. Thing to think about is the independent’s source of parts. Rolex will give you a two year service warranty.

Definitely have RSC service it. Once you let outsiders service it, RSC won’t touch it.

I do not think they will give a lot of room being 7 months out but you never know. I would send it to the RSC and find out. One way or another, I would have them service the watch, pay, get the new 2 year warranty and go on with it.

Hope you hear favorably from Rolex, but I have to agree seven months past the warranty expiration date is not just outside it, no matter who looks at it. My favorable experience was less than a month after, I believe. I would not have even asked at seven months. I would still use Rolex for any servicing even if you have to pay.
