6117-6400 World Time

I have really been enjoying my Seiko World Time from 1971.

I realized that since I travel alot, GMTs are even more useful to me than "diver" watches

I just purchased a Rolex GMT II 16710 pepsi which is incoming. Let's see which watch keeps better time!

Great piece, serviced and regulated I think the old Seiko could keep up with the Rolex!

Congratulations. I have had several 1960s Seikos that kept perfect time when regulated. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Speaking of regulated, is regulating a Seiko something any watchmaker can do, or are there some outfits in the US that are better suited to Seiko service? I have an SLA033 that runs about +7-8 spd. I've heard that the 8L35 can do better when properly regulated.

Yes, any watchmaker should be able to do it. You might even try it yourself with the right tools.

I am not sure would worry about those kind of specs. That is actually really good for this movement.

Beautiful watch op! I have owned a few WT's and I love them. Especially the brushed dial variants. Here is a one-off GMT Sea Lord I currently own.
