Nice watch! Meteorite subdials are cool but a full meteorite dial and black onyx subdials would have been AWESOME! IMHO

I think it’s a well done release of the 321. We all kind of figured that when they brought the movement back it was going to go to a PM watch. I just hope that Omega will use the movement for an SS edition like the one above, sans meteorite dials.

This. I'm in if they do a regular stainless steel on bracelet sapphire sandwich version with a ceramic bezel for under $10,000 MSRP.

Won't happen in steel. The steel speedmaster will get the updated 3861 from the 50th anniversary but not the 321 IMO.
This "new" 321 reference is being produced in small numbers at a new facility I believe. Platinum enables Omega to bump up the price and work on greater margin rather than pumping out higher volume. Expect these to be in PM for some time if not indefinitely. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Omega is cashingin on this 50th anniversary thing. There are already too many variations on the speedmaster and the hype is getting too much. Every 5 years they come up with a variation and people rushimg in. Is is actually the same wacth with thensame movement but with variation on the dials.

That is a sweet looking watch. I like how they kept it simple (i.e. no Buzz Butt) but I also fear this will be way too expensive

Wow, this thing is gorgeous. Platinum, onix, meteorite, white gold, ceramic, 321. Not a single detail isn't luxurious and perfectly executed.

My only gripe is I wish they used the CK2998 case for this. I'd prefer it to have the straight lugs and no crown guards. Otherwise, excellent execution and a proper tribute to an amazing accomplishment.

That'll end up being like $50k watch. I suppose they'll sell to the "gotta catch'em all" pokeman-type speedy collectors with deep pockets.
Still, love the 321 being brought back, hoping something happens at Omega someday where they decide to get that down in a steel watch that's really faithful to the true Moon watch. Imagine there being a 'definitive' speedy in current production! That's what they are missing. |

I love the Speedy. I think Omega makes too many LEs.
This is perfect. |

Reality is, with a 321 movement, made in actually small quantities, and in platinum. Compare that to the SS daytona, which at gray market will likely be about the same price as this offering. 321 Speedy is a massively better deal, and hell you can actually read the thing. Then of course there is the materials, onyx and moon rock, compared to the dinner plate material on the ceramic daytona.

Although I have LE Speedmaster fatigue, this is one LE I really like. Looks very well executed and luxurious. But I'll have to wait and see the price tag...

I was thinking more along the pricing of their recent gold offering at 33,000 or so. I mean platinum while hard to work with, is really far below gold at this point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don't believe this platinum 321 Speedmaster has anything to do with the 50th anniversary, and it is not a limited edition. It is a limited production which means Omega is free to make as many as they get orders for, which will probably be low because of the price.
My understanding is there will be a stainless steel Speedmaster with the 321 but in what form is open to speculation. Also, the SS 321 will probably cost considerably more than the typical SS Speedmaster. I am guessing $12k-$15k because of the limited production of the 321 movement. All of this information, except for the prices, was presented at a gathering hosted by the president(?) of Omega as reported by Robert-Jan at Fratello. It was also stated at that time that the 321 would not be in the 50th Anniversary Speedmaster, which turned out to be true. |
