Icon2 Using the Rolex Timing Bezel

If you only use yours for cooking - don't feel bad. That's what it's for

This is great, but to be period accurate should read: If your WIFE is baking a cake or boiling an egg, the Turn-O-Graph makes sure you remind her to take them out at the right time.

One of the indispensable uses of the timing bezel.

Curious how many people use the bezel to track the date?

Date Sub owners need not reply :-)

I find it funny that at one point Rolex had to try and convince people to buy a sub given today’s climate. Let alone by incorporating baking functionality....that said, I used my sub the other day to time when I put my kids fish sticks in the oven....

Use my Sub bezel as a timer almost every day. Tried to use it to track the date-that lasted about two hours.

Timing the parking meter, brewing coffee, and tracking my fiancé's time zone (flight attendant) are my main uses.

Using the Rolex Timing Bezel

I use the timing bezel on my diver all the time. It’s a really practical and useful feature on the watch for things outside what it was really designed for.

Thanks for sharing Adam.

Then it’s officially safe to wear you sub when baking. Case closed.

Thanks for sharing the ad, always enjoy seeing older examples. It shows how much their marketing has evolved with the changing times, even though the classic sports watches have generally remained the same

So you all mean, you use your watch to time things. Wow.. Once again Rolex spoils us with innovative ideas.

Many old chronographs (1930s-50s), including Rolex if I'm not mistaken, had elongated three-minute markers on the sub dials, as phone calls used to be charged per three minutes.

That’s interesting. I grew up with having limited minutes, but I was still young when everything switched to unlimited.

Thanks for sharing.

No you’re right!

It was limited minutes, then free nights and weekends, then unlimited everything.
