The rubber strap works so well as the texture matches the dial, genius! A watchmaker I was talking told me when the aquanaut was introduced to their sales team they were told the idea was it was to look like it had been driven over and the strap/ dial represents tyre tracks.

The rubber strap is so comfortable. Good luck with your choice.

I think the rubber strap looks better but unlike most I think the bracelet would probably sit better. My wrist is 7.25 so right in the middle and I don't think the rubber sits that great. Don't think the watch looks as good with bracelet. Time over I would buy neither.

I like the rubber strap, it makes the watch look fresh and young. It is a completely different piece with the bracelet.
Not to hijack your thread, but I figured the same people that read this would read a new one I started. I have searched all over. Does anyone know what the dial is made of on the Aquanaut? |

Speaking of the Aquanaut bracelet, I think i have come to the conclusion that I will always wear my Aquanaut on the rubber strap. As a result, I will likely look to sell the bracelet by its self. Do any of you see an issue in doing this? For instance, does the bracelet have a serial number on it that would need to match the watch? That sort of thing.

it has been corrected in more recent production, but not sure when this correction took place.

What do you think about the bracelet for a 5164?

IMO, the rubber strap is more matching because it has got checkered patterns on it like the dial. On the other hand, the bracelet doesn't blend in with the dial and it's design is also not unique from the bracelets in some brands of watches.
Just a matter of personal taste I guess. My suggestion is to go for the rubber and save up the balance for your next PP. |

One other thing is when doing typing at the keyboard, there won't be any scratches on the case or buckle cos it's the rubber strap that comes into contact with the table top.

The 5164 is a great watch and my most comfortable on the rubber strap. I can not see me ever changing to the bracelet although I actually like the look of it.

Definitely on the strap...
The bracelet is way too shiny for the watch... |

Excellent watch of course
Also the first time i've seen both day/night indicators white! They're always opposite for ads/publications.

My bad. I have never ever seen a 5164 with a bracelet so I thought it didn't exist. So the bracelet from a 5167 bolts right on to a 5164? I couldn't even find an image on that Google-guy's website...! |

rubber strap does look cool, it certainly works aesthetically, always has, but a 5167 rubber strap is about the most uncomfortable thing ever for me. no stretch. can hardly even be called rubber. have tried it multiple times.. i find the 5167 completely and utterly miserable. the bracelet is great, it is what it is, it's an extension of the case, dial and the watch. it's perfect design and has perfect flow with the case.
the 5065 bracelet while much "nicer", is just too blingy for me personally, though i loved wearing it when living in the city. it's one of the nicest bracelets of any watch ever imo, but it's extremely high polish and very blingy. i have both watches, have tried both w/ rubber for comfort and found comfort none-whatsoever. aquanaut bracelets for me... |

If you bother to go to the Patek website, you can see all the current models and their variants. |

For me it's made to be on rubber, goes too well with the dial to want to put it on bracelet
