None. I'd go for 5990. Put your name down on a few waiting lists, and wait patiently. I know, it's frustrating to wait months (or years?) for your grail piece, but the 5990 is worth the wait. Till then, get an affordable steel watch to kill the time ;)

Mate there has been a lot of opinions here, all great, but I am sure you are as confused as ever.
I think the 5980 is the logical choice if your AD still has it. It's discontinued and it's a classic, the first Nautlius chronograph. The price will only go up. Few years down the line you can trade it in for any of the other pieces you currently want, or you can buy the new nautilus. I just don't think the TT version has staying power, and this is coming from someone who had two TT watches before (ym2 15300) |

Out of your list, I'd go with the 5980/1AR-001 even though I wouldn't buy that particular piece. Your first Nautilus should be on bracelet IMHO.

Regarding your statement that this would be your second patek after the aquanaut:
Then I recommend the 5726 (grey preferably but white "pops") but on bracelet: you get all the original nautilus design characteristics (including the porthole style case opening), a patek AC, with an ever so lovely moonphase. Disclosure: I still own my 5726 grey dial on bracelet and still love it as much as I did from the first time I laid eyes on one. If your heart speaks more to chronos then go for the steel 5980. It came in blue, grey and white dial versions. Blue is the most wanted. Grey and white are the most balanced and finished dials where the date windows are framed as well (not the case on the blue dials). I prefer the grey myself, then the white, blue takes third place in my book. |

My Vote...5980
But I would always consider the 5711 as well. Lower price point and timeless classic! |

I did see a video of someone operating a 5980 in a pool...gotta be true it was on the internet.
