Since the thread has been bumped, and I recently picked up a vintage ('69) GS, I thought I'd join in.

SBGV027 the only quartz I will wear in rotation with my Datejust and Black Bay. A beautiful watch and the 9F82 movement hasn't gained or lost one second in 6 months (and I'm satisfied that my DJ gains 2-3 spd and my Tudor 1-2 spd).

The Snowflake impresses me. It has a subtle beauty that one must see in person.

Grand Seiko Bracelet links

Hi All,

Need some advice and based in London, UK...

Whats the best place/way to buy a few extra bracelet full links for a Grand Seiko SBGH037 Limited Edition watch? The bracelet is the same as for most other Grand Seikos with the polished strips on the middle link.

Contacted Seiko UK and they came back with a price of 325 GBP for 3 links. Is that a fair price in your experience?

Any advice/info would be highly appreciated.

Cheers..

Question for the Grand Seiko experts -- where is the best place to get a GS bracelet sized in Hong Kong? Can any competent watchmaker do this, or should I go to the authorized GS Service Center in kowloon?

Any competent watchmaker should be able to do it.

You should be able to do it yourself Steve – it’s not rocket science, and there’s even videos on YouTube if you need your hand held initially.

I sized it myself Steve. It is rather straightforward. I would be glad to assist if you would like me to.

That's crazy! Seiko USA gives up to 4 free links if you simply call them. They'll only ship to a US address, but if you know someone there, try that. I got 2 full links and 1 half link for my SBGE009 no questions asked.

And a totally unrelated SBGJ021 shot:

Beautiful!! Congrats. Really nice.

The Ti seems pretty bright, almost like SS...is it your photos, or is it like that in real life?

These all look great, but is it just me, or would they look better with:

- Less sawed off lugs
- Less obtuse angles
- Less text on dial (especially the block at 6'clock)
- Different "Grand Seiko" font, or more front consistency within a shared space
- Less polished links
- A rounded bezel

That's just the style. You'd be taking away all the Japanese character!

What I want from GS is a realistic sized diver with a mechanical movement and some streamlined hands.

Sometimes phone pics can surprise me. I’ve taken a few that I’ve been really impressed with. As soon as I reach 10 posts I’ll be able to post a photo.

I just could not get on with the OEM strap and now have it on a Hirsch, which is _very_ comfortable, I think it may have been the GS deployment causing me issues, however, all is well now .

My only modern GS, and even this is a reissue. This picture doesn't do it justice, great angles on the case, super sharp (blades) hands.
