Gronefeld Delivery ahead of schedule

I was notified this am that my Gronefeld is almost ready for shipping. The discussion on the wait was discussed here. Also I had a previous thread trying to make a decision between a Gronefeld and KV...

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...ight=Gronefeld

Originally I was told likely just before Christmas..
Only bad news is the Euro has risen against the dollar and even though I put a 30% deposit down-- I will be paying about $5500 more than the original calculation.. Oh well...

PS I have not had a lot of free time to post and read the threads carefully because work has interfered.. LOL

I just returned from Europe yesterday and was about 4 hour train ride away. I almost had asked if i could come pick up in person but I thought it would sound like i was pressuring too much on time.. I am going back to Europe in a few weeks but schedule is too tight to take a side trip

Almost ready? That's not fun, I had to wait 14,5 months to get mine, tell them it's too quick and you'll get it in 6-8, you'll appreciate it more
Anyways can't wait to see pics, their movement looks amazing, and the dial is sure to be a stunner as well, very happy I took a KV, but they are really cool as well.
About the euro rising I was supposed to get mine in May, and predicted the euro would fall compared to Swiss Franc, and paid 70% up front, and in May my prediction was right, and paid the extra 30% in June even before getting the watch, saved a little in June on the original price, now had I paid in September I would have saved more, but hey that's life

Well after a lot of botched Fedex maneuvers and delays in customs... It finally arrived. Some quick unboxing photos

Wow! Many congrats! Hard choice vs KV but I love your piece for sure and I too would most likely have went went with them. I have been really tempted by KV's collaborated piece, Chapter 3, for a far lower price but the same finishing as a KV.

No I actually like the hidden complications on the Chapter 3 and the dial is pure KV. Can be had for $35 all day in a large case size to boot.

Just one of those watches that calls to me ya know. I liked it before even read the history about it. I like Gronefeld's more modern approach in general more which is why if commissioned a piece I said would have went with them, but KVs pieces are wonderful too just different. I would def own your alls that you have shared for sure it's just hard for me to justify that price when the Chapter 3 calls to me with more modern case/lugs.

To each his own and no wrong answer if you ask me when only comparing personal preferences.

No I am not concerned about aesthetics as that's a personal judgement...u stated that the Chapter 3 finish is the same as a KV is what I am challenging.
