Trade BLRO for a 15400 Blue?

Currently have a Black Dial DaytonaC and a WG BLRO.

Wife things they look too similar, I love the BLRO (heft is amazing), but I kinda see what she is saying.

Would you trade a BLRO for a 15400 Blue + Cash to me?

I’m AP fanatic, but I would not do, honestly. That thing is huge and full WG, the trade is unfair for me.
But it’s up to you, buddy

Two very different watches, the 15400 is certainly a bit dressier. My vote is for the 15400, especially the blue boutique dial, quite happy with mine!

I never really understood white gold especially on watches. That blue RO is sensational. I hope with that trade you get good cash back. The BLRO is mega expensive. Why not get an all gold AP and really make a statement? :-)

I see what you did there, that proved a very popular solution on the other thread.

I would get the AP, altho I'd probably sell the D500 and keep a PM Rolex with it.

I wouldn't. As much as I love AP, it's hard to imagine trading from a solid WG piece to the 15400.

However, how much cash are we talking about?

I wouldn’t. Maybe a compromise would be to keep the BLRO and pick up a white or black 15400?

I get why there's so much loyalty for these references, especially the 15202, but they're just not for everyone. For me personally the size of the 15400 is more appealing, and it just seems like it'd be a little bit more of a durable watch (correct me if I'm wrong on that).

Anyhow, it's just not as simple a suggestion, as Nope, get the 15202. I've heard that reply for years, and I've been close to following the adivise rather blindly, and I'm very happy I didn't.

I absolutely love my 15400 Blue, and while it's not really my everyday watch, it could easily be with a little heightened wrist awareness.

I'd make the trade. The 15400 is not that easy to find, but the BLRO has been in every AD I've visited since it's release and there are constantly preowned examples for sale.

I guess it depends on how much money you'd have coming your way, but if you have your heart set on it, I'd do it!

Thanks for the replies.

While the BLRO is indeed solid WG, the finishing on the APs are a completely different level.

The 15400s fit me perfectly, so I’m not sure if the 15202 would be too small. As the DaytonaC wears kinda small, think I’d like to balance it out with the bigger 15400.

Obviously the “how much cash” is a big part of this. I think 22-22.5k for the BLRO is a decent estimate, and I’d guess a Blue 15400 could be had for ~19k. So let’s call it ~3k.

So I guess the question is:
DaytonaC Black + BLRO (current)
DaytonaC Black + AP 15400 Blue + ~3k
AP 15400 Blue + BLRO - ~3.5k

Ok ok ok, here's what I got for you ;)

Since you put a +3.5k as an option. I think you trade the BLRO take the $3k, add another 3.5k and get a 114060 Submariner, 116610 if you want to add on another $1k and a date function.

Then you have a supercase ceramic workhorse, a refined luxury sports watch in the Daytona, and a true luxury piece in the 15400.

I wouldn't. 19k seems ludicrous for a 15400.

for a 15202 yes. For a 15400 + cash i can see the appeal but thats a tough call.

As has been suggested, perhaps sell the D500 for the 15400 - particularly as the former wears smaller of the two Rolexes that you own. The 15400 is a fantastic piece and you will not miss the D500 for a moment, despite its coveted nature. You will also take a financial loss on the BLRO - which notably has a generally more useful complication - whilst you would make a profit selling the D500 at present, where values are rather high.

I am eyeing on the BLRO currently despite I have few RO in my collection. The RO may not as versatile as Pepsi in my opinion. I would say keep the wg Pepsi.

I'd also do it for a 15202 for sure.

Looking at Chad's pic above I would do it for the blue 15400 as well.

Definitely not, BLRO is a keeper imo. I'd maybe consider flipping the Daytona if you're hard set on the AP though.

I would not do the deal. The two watches that you have are great and very versatile. They are not similar in appearance other than the oyster bracelet.

To scratch the Pepsi itch, take the cash coming back your way and put it towards steel GMT II Pepsi.

That’s roughly the going rate for Blue dials, why ludicrous?
