Take the little 39mm flat Daytona and compare it to the solid gold Sub in magificent blue next to each other and on the wrist and then you tell us ...

I would keep the Daytona simply for commodity value and try and get the 116618LB at a good gesture price .

Yes, make the trade! I realize that this might be an unpopular opinion, but the Daytona never really did much for me. Sure, it's cool & rarer in terms of sports Rolexes, but it never did "it" for me. Blue & gold Submariners hit the nail on the head for me, though. Plus, aren't SS prices super high right now? You might be able to offload your Daytona for more than you think.

Yes! SS is high now but gold will be high forever.

By all means, if you want to wear the YG sub daily, DO IT. I love the gold sub.
I have never been a fan of the daytona, too busy for me.

Hopefully that gold sub doesn’t keep you up at night! :)

The Daytona is a grail item, super comfy, and stealth gorgeous. The sub is ostentatious, and you’re going to find that even though you may run in circles with people that can afford it, they’d never consider wearing it. Been there done that. All these giant pictures from 4 inches away don’t convey reality.

I wouldn’t if I didn’t have another SS sports model. There very well may come a time when the YG is too over the top imo.

I have Daytonas (black face ceramic
Bezel, white gold with the black racing dial and a SS 2005 white face), and I have a smurf. Im in love with the Daytona’s (but it always bothers me that there was no date on it!) However, I find the smurf to be far easier for my aging eyes to read the time. As I get older the black face Daytona has become more and more
Difficult to tell the time; the Smurf jumps out at me (and has a date!)

I’d recommend trying the Sub on first before doing the deal.

It will do 2 things 1) Get you comfortable with the heavy weight 2) Seal the deal- cause the piece is special.

In short- i’d do it! Solid gold Sub’s are beautiful, timeless watches that are rarely seen in the wild. I have a WG Sub and will add the YG at some point.

Good luck!

If it sings to you do it while the SS prices are high. While it's beautiful, I don't think I could wear an all gold watch, it's just not me.
