Daytona dial defect

Hi all, I just noticed that the top edge of two of my DaytonaC’s dial has some bubbling/rough edges on the top part of the 3 and 6 o’clock sub dials. I never noticed before because you really need to catch it in the right light, but this bubbling is only on the top portion of the sub sub dials, the rest of the dials (and the 9 o’clock dial) have perfectly smooth edges.

I’ve attached a pic to show when the light catches the bubbling, which hopefully illustrates what I’m talking about.

What do you guys think, should I ask for a dial replacement under warranty?

Well no harm in asking but when you look with very high magnification its possible you will see tiny paint imperfections.

Paying $12k+ for a watch I’d expect perfection (or close to it) I’d contact Rolex and have them fix the result of their poor quality control!!

100% you should ask them to fix. Not acceptable on a Rolex

I’d ask for a fix.

Now that you found it, I’d say the only way you’ll be happy is to get it fixed.

Yep. Ignorance was bliss. Now I’d have to ask them to consider replacing it.

I'd send it in but hearing bad stories from RSC, keep your fingers crossed for the hope RSC would not mess up your watch further. Good chance you may get a "service dial" which might be different from your original dial. Good luck.

Yes I am very wary of RSC, just got my white back and they had scratched the sides (see my other thread).

What you say about a service dial is interesting though, is EVERY dial replacement a “service” dial? I could see this being an issue on a vintage watch with patina lume plots but for a current watch, would it make a difference?

Look on their website. It says that the dials are made largely by hand to create perfection.

That’s not the reality, based on what I’ve seen.
