Two very different watches. I hv the 233 and REALLY like the 372 - but its just too big for me, so 233 wins out for me.

The 233 is extremely cool but if you have the wrist for the 372 that would be my choice every time.

I have the exact same debate in my head. I love the 233, but the 372 is so flawless. I think the reason I am comparing them is that both can be had for about the same price in the 2nd hand market. I really like the 111 as well which is a bit cheaper, but both the 233 and 372 are amazing in their own right.
I know, I didn't help at all. sorry

I have both watch let me share with you.
Actually both watch wear about the same sizes ( u can see from the picture attached below) due to 372 is slightly thinner. So you can forget about the size , don't worry. I own both watch and i must say 372 is really a stunny pieces the plexiglass is so sexy. Being said that i found 233 is more pratical for daily use due to it has a 8 days PR only wind it onces a week and it has date plus GMT function for traveling. If you like the historical feel, this is what Panerai about then 372 is better option. In this case you can't go wrong with either one. You will love it. Good luck and hope this help. |

233 without hesitation
More wearable at 44 mm, plus... Seconds hand, date, GMT, power reserve meter, 8 day movement, quick-change strap system, sapphire crystal No contest imho, unless you really crave the simple/base look and can carry off 47 mm (& can live with a scratch-prone acrylic crystal)

A word about wrist size... When u have a 6" wrist, u either go for 36mm watches (god forbid :)) with a soft strap, or at least 42mm upwards (the bigger the comfier!) coz when the watch diameter at lugs (or length from lug to lug) actually is the same as your wrist width you don't get the wiggling at all. The 372 lugs reach the tips of your (and my) small wrist so wiggling is not an issue!! Go for it!

Randy, People who have a classy taste and like the 372, shouldn't be the same people who like Starbucks!! That is NOT coffee they serve there! Try an illy (or a Caribou, at least) and u'll NEVER want to drink that black water (yes, u can't call it "coffee") they serve at that place!

Both awesome, but for me, in the steel, the 372 is even more stunning. I've had mine for almost 9 months, and it's still magic when I put it on.

233 without a doubt. Its one of few I let go and miss dearly

What other PAMs / watches do you own?
I love both or more precisely, I love the 233 & 422 (422 = 372 plus secs subdial & PR on the back of the movement)
You weren't explicit, but I'm guessing it will be your first PAM? What other watches do you own? I recently got myself a 233 (my 1st PAM) but the 422 was on the same short-list and in the end, it was a question of price & availability and the 233 won out... |

Yeah, with that seconds dial messing up the whole idea of a simple plain classic Panerai! Meaning, 372 it is!
