Incoming ROO Titanium 44

My AD called me this morning and told me to stop by as he had something to show me. I had been convinced the WG Daytona on oysterflex was going to be my next piece, but after trying on the AP titanium, it was a fairly easy decision for me.

To me the WG Daytona was pretty similar to the AP titanium in what I was looking for in my next watch. I wanted another chronograph, I wanted a grey-ish dial, I wanted contrasting sub dials, a rubber strap, and it had to be able to be an everyday wear type of piece. Both the Daytona and the Titanium fit that description. The Daytona has always been on the extreme small side for my personal comfort level where as the AP is toward the top end to my comfort level. Both are great watches, but I decided to add another AP instead of the Daytona.

The titanium is definitely a very light piece and that was the first thing I noticed when picking it up for the first time especially compared to the RG 44. Although both of my 44’s have the same shaped case, I do believe that the titanium and RG are far more different from each other visually than say a GMT and a Sub. Because of that I think my two 44’s are going to play very well together. One is more of an everyday piece and the other is more of an occasion/statement piece. My other watches are going to struggle for wrist time with these two.

im not sure as i don't have a scale, but noticeably lighter than my 42mm SS diver. The big difference though is the feel, regardless of the weight. It is noticeably less dense and you can really feel it when holding it along with a SS watch.

Excellent choice - the 44Ti was my next to buy AP, until I decided to get the RO RG Chrono instead. All being well the Ti will be my next AP purchase. I think the 44Ti looks lovely, the mix of grey with silver tones works very well with the overall design - and as you say, its very different in 'personality' to the 44RG.

For me there would be no choice between the Ti and a Daytona!

Looks terrific, congrats! I was keen on the WG Daytona but the muscularity of the AP rubber strap has slightly ruined me for the more dainty Daytona one. I think if I got the Daytona I'd put it on a custom racing strap with silver stitching.

Congrats Tyler! Great choice in the TI. Definitely my favorite of the new releases. Having two 44's works out really well.

My thoughts exactly on the straps. The oyster flex is super comfortable but its slim and less rugged looking. Its a shame i could not try both the daytona and the AP side by side and on the same day. But the "feeling" with the AP was much stronger than with the daytona when i tried it on last month. The daytona is an awesome watch but even in WG just couldn't compete with the AP in my eyes. That just goes to show how good AP really is, as opposed to something being wrong with the Rolex as it is an outstanding piece too.

I agree, Rolex is good, but there's something special about AP that Rolex doesn't have - superior engineering and extra exclusivity.

That said I'm still planning on a 2017 full gold YM2 to go with my bi-colour YM2 and DSSD-DB, but then that will be it for me and Rolex, all further focus on AP!
