Your thoughts on Patek enameled dial watches ...!!

I was in Basel 2013 and saw the beautiful Patek Philippe enamel watches collection. So many awesome Pateks over there.

What do you guys think about these kind of rare birds?.

Pictures credited to our uncle Google (with thanks) ..

The Macau Birds (comes in 3pcs set) ...

Flowers (I think) comes in 3pcs set too ...

Snake (comes in 3pcs set) ...

Arabian Falcon Hunting (unique piece) ..

These pieces are definitely art on the wrist. I was unaware that Patek put out this many varied enameled varieties. While they all look incredible, it sort of takes away from the uniqueness, IMO.

The Arabian falcon hunting looks more than great, I'd call it a Royal piece of art.
Today I went through Arnold & Son website and noticed that they have beautiful decorative art woks, I also paid a visit to Alfardan after taraweeh and was lucky to see and examine couple of decorated pieces by VC.
Wish you all the best in your hunt ;)

Definately a work of art and requires great craftsmanship.

But personally not to my taste.

not for me, just 'too much'

They have a lot of these tigers, horses, fish, indians, masks, ...

great craftmanship but imo to much of a painting and not enough of a watch
The worldtimer 5131 is great and in this case the enamel is imo not overdone

I would love to have one someday. They are a true testament to the old style and art of enamel and watchmaking from long ago

Exactly what I was thinking, I think enamel painting is a dying art and it's a real shame! I'd love to learn how to do such dials someday and in the meantime those watches show that it's possible to make real masterpieces in horology without having very complicated movements.

Thank you for sharing Khalid.

That is an amazing parrot. Being able to tell the time upside down is an incredible feat!
