Had a look at this 1680 on trip to London . .

It's actually the first one I've seen in the flesh. Really liked it & would love to have it on the wrist. It's reasonably priced for today's market. Certainly the most affordable I've seen for sale in a long time. Comes with a 2 year warranty from a very solid source.

Not great photos I'm afraid. The dial and hands looked awesome, as did the plexi. I know the bezel is a replacement and the case is a bit polished, the bracelet had some stretch, but other than that, do you guys think it's ok ?

I was actually very close to buying it but it turned out it was on hold although the buyer hadn't collected it, so there's still a decent chance they will call me next week.

...because i wouldn't have a watch on 'hold' for days . . . I would want to pick it up or get it delivered ASAP ! couldn't bear the wait.

I also had a gut feeling the salesman was spinning a yarn to cultivate my interest !

Nice patina. Case is a bit soft for my liking.

Yes, a bit soft for my liking but with a thick case it might £2000 more, so I could live with it.

That's all that matters.

If you like the watch and your happy with the price - what's the issue?

If you want a museum piece keep looking, if you want a reasonably priced vintage tool watch that can be a daily beater look no further and pay the man..

Its got a 2 year warranty

They had the watch for months . . I eventually decide to have a look in the flesh and someone buys it from under my nose. What an arse

When you factor in getting the bracelet serviced to resolve the stretch\ period correct bezel - maybe better paying a bit more for one with a thicker case. Now you've seen\ like the 1680 - starting saving for that bit of extra £££. Good luck ;.)

Sorry for your loss, but if it makes you feel any better, it had a service insert.

The case is much stronger and hands can be replaced. Worth a call to negotiate? (Btw I have nothing to do with them!)
