i think it is the fact that they are now available all over after production issues were sorted out.
btw, i just called the patek salon in london, they have the 5235 in stock. waiting list for the 5712R is 5 years, for the 5711R about one year.

What do you mean by the price has tanked? What's retail and what can you buy it for? Also, how is the 5712R an appreciating asset when you say you you'd get less than you paid for it? They're available in the USA if you make a few phone calls.

And about the 5235 price tanking? What do you mean? And what misunderstanding are you referring to, your post said you could get almost what you paid for it.

i said i could get back about what i paid for the 5712R, in fact it is 5% more, as i have now calculated. the 5235 i can get for 15% under list from ab AD.

Its also very hard to read the date and day on the 5235. Many people have stated and I agree with them that this watch would have been spot on without the AC which adds utterly nothing but confusion to the unusual time complication and splendid dial.

well “tank” relative to patek especially considering how rare they were for awhile. there were some listed for 35-40k.

The 5712r very beautiful and very versatile, the leather strap is great, dresses it up or down. The 5711r is beautiful, however, all gold, is not the aesthetic that I personally want to project. To each his own. 5235g is nice. No bad choices here.

Was being offered twice pass one month on the 5712r. 5711r is readily available too. 5712/1a and 5711/1a need to arrange but not impossible. You should squeeze your AD harder. ;)

Was offered the 5235 once 4 months ago. But was sold few days later after I declined.

I don’t think the 5235 price has “tanked”.. mind you.. i bought mine sometime ago. I bought mine at VERY reasonable price before the multiple price “adjustment”..

p/s I already own 5711/1a, 5712/1a, 5712r and the 5235g too when being offered. So I pass the offers.
