What do you guys think?
Is the 214270 the ultimate beach watch?
On the beach sand tends to get under the bezel of my Sub c and makes the bezel make quirky noises.....

Personally think 216570 is better beach watch.

Especially if that beach is in a different time zone.

The better beach watch is the cheap watch, to me anyway. So I wear an affordable diver when I snorkel. If I forget to screw down the crown and as a result damage the movement with sea water, it's not the end of the world. I wear the expensive piece when I go out at night to a nice place with the wife. But hey, nothing wrong with wearing your luxury watch at the beach as long as you're not overly careful as I am.

Sand and shiny surfaces and/or devices with tiny cracks like bezels and bracelets don't mix very well together

They will all work but there may be a price. Does sand really get into rotating bezels? If it does then that could be an issue.

I have worn mine to the beach and don't feel that it is. My Seiko diver is though and is now my beach watch. In fact it's better than the different subs that I have owned as a beach watch, and maybe as a watch.

Beach like visiting or beach like everyday. If it's like everyday, unless you're a baller and make the Sub your tool beater watch which it can be, I'd prefer a budget diver from Marathon or Seiko on rubber.

For visiting, any Rolex would do unless you're surfing and riding jet skis, etc.
Like we used to say in my unit, everything can be METT-TC....

Rinse the watch after you get back from the beach and the sand is gone. I have never had any issues. I always were a Rolex or a AP when at the beach and done for years

The Pelagos is my ultimate beach/yard work/pool cleaning/do anything that might be remotely damaging watch, IMO.

I have an Omega Seamaster on a rubber strap that is my beach watch. It has a quartz movement and is always ready to go. As some others have said, if I forget to screw in the crown, or make a careless mistake that damages the watch it’s not the end of the world.
If I’m not engaged in any activities, like snorkeling or digging, I may wear a Sub.

I’m a G shock kind of guy at the beach and pool. Just how I’m most comfortable.

My other watches have been swimming with me, but that is only when I didn’t plan enough to grab the G.

I'm happy with the THBBN on Everest strap. Works well for me. Used it four days this week already.

Need to wear goggles next time before trying to shoot underwater.

The 5 digit sub's bezel has a closer gap to the case than the 6 digit with the ball bearings making the bezel sit up higher thus sand gets in there making the bezel hard to to turn. Another example why older subs are more tool like. Any rolex made can take to the beach and swim with no worries at all.

Sorry have no knowledge about Pelagos. Maybe try google for some images bezel case gap. The reason for my post my son has a 6 digits sub and sand interferes with his bezel while mine doesn't. to the naked eye you can see a lot bigger gap on his.
