450D+Tamron & 09 USA trip pix (loads of pix)
after helps from fellow TRF members (especially SirLoki & Gedanken), i have picked up a 450D & Tamron 18-270 VC lense a few days before our USA trip in early Jan 09.
we stayed in New York for 3 days, then to Killington for 6 days, back to New Jersey for 1 night then back to London. I have taken a few pix and using a DSLR+lense combo is a totally different experience than the usual point & shot cameras. there are so much to learn, do & adjust, and after taking just over 1300 shots, i'm still getting used to this combo and i'm loving it. still have loads to learn about the combo and photography. i have put together a few pix to share. place we stayed at on 7th Ave finally seen it in person this is the biggest golden-brideges i have ever seen love this place, there must be enough M&Ms to feed the whole Middle East joined a NY day tour, first stop Central Park pix Rockfella Centre pix Empire State Building Brooklyn Bridge/South Pier(?) 5th Ave Wall St & Broadway NY Stock Exchange Statue of Liberty (on ferry to & back from Staten Island) Randon hanging traffic lights NYPD GTG? around the UN building NYC protest Killington, Vermont pix heated pool in sub zero degree condition Random "little people" the Killington Stig?!?! mmm..... the Killington First Aid & Clinic (and the result)?!? from the hotel room in Jersey City (snow over Hudson River) The A320 from the hotel breakfast room (getting lifted off the river that day) thats all for now. dont think i'd make an effort to go back to NY anytime soon.... skiing was fun, would def. do more. we are going to Dublin for a weekend next week. will take DSLR and learn some more. Pfft - before Nikon finally followed Canon's FF direction with the D3 and D700, you poor sods had to stitch everything, what with those tiny sensors!

Thanx for sharing your trip photos with us. New York is a large, beautiful city but nothing like the skyline in Chicago in the summer time viewed from a boat in Lake Michigan!!!

thanks for sharing the pictures! the 18-270 VC lens is a dream.... i have the 28-300 equivalent and it is by far the best travel lens. The 18-270 is probably just as good if not better with that 18mm wide angle :)

thanks guys.
Brian, the 18-270 is def. an awesome travel lense. i can not think how trouble-some to have to change lenses for different location while going place to places. thanks again for your recommendation! |
