A new guy from germany

Hi everybody,
I know, you crown-crazy-people are very excited in these days. Although I want to say hi before I join this great forum. My Name is Jo, 31, I live in Hamburg. Got my first real watch some weeks ago - an IWC Mark XV. This litte watch is perfect for my job and it still puts a smile on my face every day. But the next one has to be a rolex. In may I will stay some days in New York, and maybe I will finde the right one ! I`m sure you guys can help me to find the right watch and dealer.

Thanks for reading

Jo:

I was in your pretty country in November 2006 getting four artificial discs put in my neck and lower spine at Stenum Hospital in Bremen. What a lovely country. I would have loved to travel to Hamburg as it was only a little over an hour away but I was a mess after such a major surgery. I definitely want to go back some day. I was so impressed with the cute houses, architecture, friendliness of the people, everything.

Welcome to our little forum. I hope we are as accommodating in our country to you as your country men were to me and my wife.

Congratulations on the fine watch you purchased. I like IWC. You will love a Rolex when you get one. They are built like a tank.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys !

I will stay at the end of may for a week in midtown Manhattan. My List : 116710 SS , Vintage Submariner ( probably one from 1977 ), Milgauss

I heard the 117610 SS is hard to get, especially in New York. Is that right ? I saw one at elitetime, but they are over list prize.

To Terry:
I´m glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in my country so much. Last year I`ve been to New York for the first time, and now guess why I´m comming back. This place is terrific ! Really nice people and so much to see.
You got 4 new discs in your spine ? Wow, how are you felling whith them? I`m working a lot with people after such surgerys, but never had one with 4 discs.
Thank you for the congratulations on my IWC ; I think understatement is very important when you`re working with common people. So I took the quiet mans watch.

Thanks again and bye for now

I know I am the bionic man now. I have an implant pass to go through airports in case I set off the alarms as mine are all metal. I am doing as well as can be expected. I bicycled 2,235 miles last Summer while healing from this surgery so I am grateful for German Doctors .

I'm glad you were treated well while in our country. I have been all over the world and do my best to respect other people's cultures when I am abroad. I think it is only right that I act like a grateful guest in someone else's home when I am there.

I look forward to seeing pics of your new IWC and the new Rolex's when you get them. You have excellent choices picked.

Welcome!

This forum is great!
when you come to America to look for Rolex. Do NOT buy any from Canal Street - all FAKE !

Wish you the best!

Vielen Dank ! Thanks again !

Last time in New York we stayed in little italy, I`ve been to canal street and I exactly know what you mean. In May we`ll stay midtown 39th street - not to far from 47th street

I´m pretty glad the new deepsea is much to big for me, so my list has not changed after baselworld.

Any suggestions where to buy vintage rolexes??

bye bye guys
Jo

Terry : I will do some nice pics of my IWC - today one of my patients noticed it - watch freaks everywhere !

Hi Jo, This is completely off the topic of Rolex, but seeing as you are from Hamburg do you remember a footballer named Jorg Albertz (Hammer Ali)? He used to play for my team in Glasgow- one of my hereos!

Great, yeah he scored in his first game for FC Clyde!

Rangers were very lucky to win. Werder are a much better team but your Goalkeeper Weise was Terrible at Ibrox and our goalkeeper was amazing! You had 37 shots i think and only one goal! Well lets hope we can do it in Lisbon.

In Bremen I think we had 18 corners, but our striker really screwed it and your goalkeep is a good one.

I´ll keep my fingers crossed on thursday

Hey Jo,

I have a couple of Rolex watches and i own an GO Chrono Sports GG (260gram) http://tinyurl.com/2jn9e2 as well. (will sell this one soon, its like new after service)

Iwear this watches all the time, all over the world and i work with them offshore as well.

At the moment i am in KSA and it seems that i have to polish my GMT after this job
I hope WEMPE can make it without sending it for service.

BTW: Mr Dougs, if you got to WEMPE (Mönkebergstrasse) ist the first choice.
