Chrono 24 extra fee
Chrono 24 effective this past Friday watches sold or shipped within the USA , there will be an extra charged to the buyer of 7.5 percent and of course the seller gets hit with 6.5 percent. The forum is going to be a great go to , to buy and sell Rolex and other watches .

I would never trust their escrow service anyway. I have bought and sold an IWC there, however, in both instances I have met with the seller/buyer personally. Imagine some crook buying off an Daytona from you and than claiming you sent him a replica and buyer protection service siding in their favor. You could end up both without the money and the watch. Just not worth the risk. Better to buy a plane/train ticket to the seller/ buyer or aim for the watch near your place.

My only experience with Chrono24 was the seller claimed the watch was never worn and it was a display model. I saw the watch in person and it was completely false.

Sellers will undoubtedly pass the additional fees onto buyers and thus increase the price on top of the increase in costs to buyers. Will this affect the overall market?

I've used C24 twice to scan for grey pieces. I then contacted the sellers directly - after researching them.
It's useful to have a collection of potential candidates on one site, but a third party is not required to negotiate and buy. And not to vet either. 90% of the process is researching the seller, not researching C24. That's irrelevant. |

C24 is great for research. Buy directly from the buyer if you can.

i used c24 to find a rare watch, contact the seller independently and research the reliability of seller. All went ok and we agreed to do the transaction and it went smoothly.
