Price Flexibility on GS?

To those who have purchased Grand Seikos from an AD, did you find any room for a discount?

I am interested in picking up an SGBR253 and am wondering, since there is basically no secondary market for these, if I could expect any discount, even if just to "save" sales tax.

thanks

Depends on the model
From a boutique, you won’t be able to get a discount.
From an AD, it was very common to get 20-25% (excluding limited editions) but now it’s a lot harder as the brand is gaining more popularity and there are waiting lists on a number of models.
For the SBGR253, I’d say it’s not unrealistic to get at least 10%-15% off

I’ve always had a 15% discount from the GS boutique.

Got the SBGJ235 and they wouldn’t budge! They charge tax no matter where you are as well!

It’s interesting that some folks managed to get 15% from a boutique! I wonder how long ago?

Yes from the GS boutique in London. Used to get 15% off after they made a call to get permission from the motherland. This was mid to late 2018. Situation may have changed since.
