Where I am, PM & TT watches are readily available now for walk-in purchase since most of them are trading under MSRP on the grey market.

Certain SS sports models are also available for walk-in purchase. Naturally, these are models that are also trading under MSRP on the grey market. (SD43, Deepsea, Explorer 1 & 2, YM TT).

Barring some seismic shift in the watch market, the popular Rolex models will henceforth always be on an allocation basis only.

Probably 90% of them are exhibition only. From what I experienced maybe they have 2 or 3 available for sale

Sounds like you have your finger on the pulse. By any chance do you know of a UK AD with a new 126719BLRO for sale?

Almost nothing to try on in Singapore.

Passed by one Patek AD beside a Rolex AD in Singapore, and the Patek AD had only one perpetual and only one chronograph for exhibition.

To add, the Patek AD asked me if I wanted to try the two on and were very nice since I walked in with a Patek complication. And mentioned they really needed to hit a target before they get more exhibition watches.

Consumer spending is slowing and debt defaults are increasing. It's foolish to think this is only effecting low income consumers. If the upper middle class gets spooked they can and will pull back sharply and suddenly.

It could be on like Donkey Kong if you have the funds.

I realized the Great Recession was bad when my favorite grey suddenly had like 6 SS Daytonas for several thousand dollars below what they had been going for. I wasn't able to take advantage being young in my career at the time. Different story now.

How do they ‘hit a target’?

Meh - let me know when they have something I want.

I was more interested in the spelling of gunwales which made me go and look up gunnels vs gunwales. Not sure I’ve ever seen it written down before! Nice to learn something every day.

Alas no. My rather sweeping generalisation was based upon the immediate availability of PM Subs at both the ADs I visit. I haven’t asked about the PM BLRO but I can’t imagine there is much of a waiting list as they are currently available under list on the grey market. As an example here is an unworn 2022 model from GMG Watches for £3,605 under MSRP;

I imagine the PM availability does not extend to Oysterflex Daytona? My UK AD says ‘probably next year’ but I’m not sure they know themselves.

There are plenty of PM Rolexes for sale in the case (not exhibition) at an AD near me. One that stood out was a blue sub/cookie monster. There also were a couple PM skydwellers, a gold yachtmaster, some all gold 31mm date justs, and some day dates. They are next to a case of stainless pieces that is exhibition only. Very clearly actually for sale, if you want to pay retail.

Back when I was living in London I was swilling pints of "beater" with a mate outside Lloyds and asked if he wanted another round, to which his retort was "nah, I'm loaded to the gunwales". Great word. Back to Lloyds for work in July, might leave the PM at home, sounds like its like the wild west now, well according to my brother.

In their window right now. I got mine fairly quickly. Have asked for a 2nd in the oposite dial and have been told next year. 2 wathes a year allowed, but not of the same flavour.

Am I missing something here ?
I’ve seen killer whales, blue whales, and Gemma Collins …
Or is it a silent W ? …
