Date Change Issue

I have an Explorer II 216570 and have noticed that the date does not change at midnight. It changes at 12:07 or 12:08am. Is this normal for this model or should I take it in to my AD to have it looked at. I bought it new in November. Thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

It is a hand alignment issue.

Personally I would not have a watch opened for this.

Yes, normal.
Some change at midnight, others change later. I would not open it up for this.

Normal however if you’re advancing the hands manually then the date changes instantly at 12 sharp.

Some change a little before some a little after midnight, as long as its changes by next day and you can see its changed, it means you are still alive now thats far more important I can assure you.

Yeah, my DJ41 changes between 12:07 a.m. and 12:08 a.m. not a big deal and pretty normal. Not all Rolex change at exactly 12:00 a.m..

Many watches start changing at or around midnight but don't finish until much later. Rolex does a good job of the date jump compared to other brands.

I would not bother with a service for something so minor.

Now, If my watch were perfect, then serviced, and then the date was changing at 1am, I'd definitely get those hands reset.

My GMT changes at about 4 minutes after if I recall correctly. I am fine with it and I believe it is normal not just with our watches but watches from other manufacturers as well.

Being a watch nerd, I took 6 watches and watched for the change. Two were real close to dead on, one was dead on and the rest were 3-5 minutes after.

No big deal. The gear date change is in sync from 10 PM to 2 AM on most watches.
