Hence, I went with the Datejust 41, Oyster/Fluted, Slate Dial. Waited about 12 months from an AD for this specific configuration.
I am content with the oyster/fluted. I feel like it increases the versatility and I can wear it with a polo/jeans as well as dressier attire like a blazer.
I am also happy with the slate for it's versatility.
The AD did not have a 36 DJ to compare it but I tried on a 36mm Oyster Perpetual and it was too small for my taste.
After I purchased it, I went down the rabbit hole of what DJ sizes to purchase and am now wondering if the 41mm is too big. So, I would like some assurance that I made the right decision.
Of note, I understand the "rolex purists" will say only 36mm on DJ, but I am more concerned on the look and versatility as opposed to being a purist.
Thanks for your help.

Nice watch
Is there any reason why you didn’t use paragraphs in your post

The dj41 does look too big on you. Looks like a clock on your wrist,

Sell it and get the 36.

First Rolex (DJ41) Help

You could wear either size.
One will look more sporty, one will look classically / dressier sized.
I personally prefer this style in a smaller case but yours looks well sized on your arm in both perspective photos…… I doubt anyone will ever think it looks too big IRL.
One day you might decide it’s not what you want but until then enjoy it , it looks modern and more casual in this larger size

If you want a slightly smaller look get a jubilee bracelet as it hugs the wrist better then the oyster. Also nice to change it up from time to time. 41 looks perfect on you.

First Rolex (DJ41) Help

You can wear either size. The 41 is solid on you. Try not to go down the OCD spiral many people go thru after buying a Rolex and then reading TRF too much.

You’re all good, OP!

I think it looks perfect. Not too big at all.

I think you are lucky to be able to pull both the 36 and the 41 off.

I think I am in the same situation, with my DD and DJ in 36, both being purchased before the larger size were produced.

I am on the AD's list for a DD40 (in Platinum) and a DJ 41 (multiple TT variations), but they to call me if these come in in 36.

For my wrist (which is slightly larger than yours) the 36 is near perfect...40/41 will make a statement...
