UK AD's for the SS Daytona

Hello forum!

I've got the opportunity to buy a white dial SS Daytona from an AD here in the UK. Is anyone aware of discounts being given on this model? Given the current economic climate I plan on asking for one (I'll pay cash) but I'd like to hear from anyone that's found themselves in a similar situation recently.

Having been on a waiting list for the last few years I was surprised to learn the rrp is now £6170!

Thanks in advance.

I can't speak for the UK, but around here a discount is seldom seen on the Daytona......

It seems to me though, if you have been on a waiting list for a couple of years, there are probably many on that same list waiting for that watch if you aren't willing to pay what's asked.......

I picked up my SS Daytona last week after having the dial swapped from black to white. I was on the list for approx 15 months and chatting to the AD it became clear that the main reason why I had progressed up the list relatively quickly was due to several people passing up the opportunity when called due to the increased price and current climate.

Personally I think that a UK AD would be highly unlikely to offer any discount whatsoever (I got 24 months interest free credit) unless the AD concerned is part of the Signet Group (Ernest Jones & Leslie Davis) and you have one of their shareholder discount cards as this is how I got 10% off my SS GMTIIc last year. Unfortunately they would not put me on their Daytona list so I paid the £6,170 elsewhere.

no discount here in US too, I paid $9925 for a black dail last weekend.
but they can ship it to out of state address to avoid tax.
that's all they would do, no discount, no freebie, no in-store credit... nothing!!!

dont like your chances of getting a discount on a SS Daytona, unless you are a big time returning customer of that AD.

then again, no harm in asking thouugh... any discount is a discount imo.

good luck mate.

Discounts are completely impossible on a SS Daytona, and it's still nigh on impossible to find a new one at list without going on a waiting list

My AD has 3 SS daytona in stock , 2 white and 1 black . Sure NO discount and NOT in display but available . They do not like to sell them off for "export" , they prefer to keep them for existing clients or make new local clients with them.

Daytona = Discount .... well that isn't something one hear everyday. Again, I don't know the UK market, but find it very unlikely to get any discount at all on a Daytona

Cheers,
Joe

No discount here (SF Bay area).

$9925 plus tax (9.75%) and waiting list.

The AD was willing to give a small discount as I'm paying cash, I collect today!
I really wasn't expecting it but I guess if you don't ask you don't get! I think because they're an independant rather than a major chain there's more scope for discount. I have 3 ADs within a few miles of my home but choose to travel to this AD because of the excellent service they provide.
I'll try to post a few pics over the weekend

I received my 2010 Signet Discount Card in the post this morning, as well as a Rolex brochure from Ernest Jones, and there was no mention of it not being applicable to Rolex purchases.
