GMT II - 16710 with A, B, N on older / Y-Serial Papers...

I know I have seen this discussed in part before.

I recently got a D-Series GMT Coke. The model shows as 16710A on the papers indicating the black & wine bezel insert came with the watch.

When did this letter designation start???

Would a Y-Series GMT II specify the original bezel insert color on the Papers???

I have a T Series 16710 which I bought BNIB in 1996 with a Coke bezel. My papers do not show the bezel insert color. (I changed to a Pepsi bezel insert in 2004 at RSC Los Angeles.)
