You mention that you not a fan of the bracelet version....

Then I suggest you to get the rubber version, if you could get it at the AD or Boutique for retail price.......

As a reminder...... Make sure you 110% sure regarding what you want (rubber version)....

Some members regret later on that they should had bought the bracelet version because they loss the option of be able the switch back and forth, between bracelet and rubber....

Another thing worth mentioning it's use to be true regarding it was easier to get the bracelet version from the AD..........

My AD told me that now days the 5167 is popular than ever and in high demand regardless bracelet version or rubber version...... Both have the same time frame of wait lists...

People starting to buy smart, they pick the bracelet version and buy the optional rubber strap with clasp so they can be able to switch back and forth...

Now we going to talk about the secondary market price (rubber vs bracelet)

Depend on supply, demand and location.....

If same condition with box and paper..... And cost the same.....

No matter what the bracelet version is a better buy at that price.... With the extra fund that you save, could get a brand new rubber strap & deployant clasp form Patek Philippe......

Another thing I notice people who has both rubber & bracelet, they tend to sell quicker......

Hope this reply help to your questions....

What tool do you use to remove the bracelet off the case?

Thanks!

I use a Bergeon 7825 and it's pretty painless..... I highly recommended you practice on a beater watch first....

Just tape the lugs and make sure you careful to hold the strap/bracelet and the head of the watch tightly once one of the spring bars is in otherwise the spring bar could fly loose...

Hi Tony

Hope you don't mind me using your thread to provide my experience with the bracelet.

Started off by removing 1 link but it wears just a bit loose.
Tried it for 2 weeks and it is indeed very comfortable but I have a nagging feeling that if it is just a bit tighter, it will wear even better.

Hence I called and reserved a 1.5 link at the local service centre.
However, after swapping 2 additional links for the 1.5, it now wears very tight. To the point where you can see the bracelet marks after wearing it for a while.

So for me, the 1.5 doesn't work out and I will swap back the 2 links.

Thanks for sharing your experience my friend.....

If adding back the 2 standard links is more comfortable, then I would go with that route....

You always can sell the 1.5 link with little to no lose of money....

Not sure where you mount your 1.5 link..... In order to get the maximum length & comfort of your 1.5 link, it should be mount next to the permanent link....

Yup I swop back today.

Did it at the service centre and the 1.5 link is put right next to the clasp as per their recommendation.

And I realised that choosing the 1.5 doesn't mean you are giving up half a link. It is more like giving up 0.75 of a link. Seems to be due to the gaps between the links which resulted in a tighter fit than expected.

Keeping the 1.5 just in case I need it one day

I did the same as the AD recommendation by putting the 1.5 link right next to the clasp......

Later I found out from my watchmaker in order to take the full advantage of the 1.5 link is to mount it next to the to the permanent link....

I take his advice and I find it more comfortable during the hot & humid weather......

You might want to try it someday.....

Does it work the same way with a nautilus 1.5 link?
I think it is esthetically more discrete with the 1.5 link next to the clasp, but have been surprised by how tight it made the bracelet compared to the looseness with the 2 links in place previously.

It work the same way if you don't mind the look.....

Not mine picture... I wouldn't do it to the Nautilus because the ugly look would bother me if the 1.5 link mount next to the permanent link....

If the Aquanaut had the same result as the Nautilus I wouldn't do it either.... Lucky the Aquanaut 1.5 link blend well with the other links, as you could see on (post 78) pictures.... Couldn't even tell where the 1.5 link is installed, unlike the Nautilus 1.5 link where you could spot a mile away.....
